I don't think he's even saying we'll get out of now though...he sounds like a beaten man and it's time to put him out of his misery and give the dice a final roll.

Been saying this for ages as have many others but just get the usual replies and same shit from AT and even the players now enough is enough.
How could it be any worse if AT goes?
It can't, no other club would put up with such a horrendous points return, it is as if the whole thing is imploding and no-one cares anymore, very very sad.
If we go down we go down but lets go down with a fight get a manager in who can try and get us out of this, get the players believing in themselves again because it is as though we are relegated and the team are just going through the motions until the end of the season.:(:(:(

Stuart Linnell made a very good point yesterday in asking if Peterborough on the whole have better players than we do.

The answer is yes. They are above us in the league, and they have just defeated us too. But once again as is so typical of Coventry supporters, they refuse to accept that little old Peterboro can dare have a better team and players than the mighty Coventry. It's this same sense of self-importance that has supporters believing we only have to turn up to beat the likes of Barnsley and Doncaster. We are bottom of the table with a record low of points for a reason.

People actually think sacking Thorn will help, truth is we have the worst side in the division and there doing the best they can, the league table doesn't lie. I agree there is an inevitability about us losing games but honestly can't see any body else improving the results or secondly wanting to do the job. Also if AT didn't come out saying positive things how would that help? That would completely crush our young squad. They whole club needs our support not the constant sniping at every defeat. PUSB

As a team squad and this season they are better than us yes, they can win football matchs and score goals as a
Team and we can't ! Yet yesterday I dont see a team that was head and shoulders above us, the same as Barsnley, Doncaster, Watford, Forest and so on! The
Problem we have got is we have a manager who gives a group no belief they can score goals and win football matchs, everyone else mentioned above and including Peterbrough do!!! Confidence is a fantastic atribute for any player/team! At the moment our team has none in there selfs as well as a team!!

we are the only team they have played who failed to score against them..........end of ps Which player will be quoted in tomorrows CT saying he thinks will still have the players to stay up? my guess would be.......Juke

The problem is we only get to see other teams players twice a season so we really don't get the chance to properly evaluate them over a sustained period. I didn't go to barnsley but I heard that Vaz Te was the worst opposition player the fans had seen this season but then scored a screamer on sky and followed it up with a couple of goals - I think he's scored 6 or 7.

Yet we rate Mcsheffrey based on what he achieved 5 years ago. Bell, clingan and murphy have all been relegated from this league, wood played half a season in a team that went down, baker was the best player in a team relegated from league one, platt is playing at the highest level in his career. Gardner, Thomas, bigi, and Christie are in their first season in the first team.

We have got a vert poor championship squad, and lack quality in the attacking third. Juke, keogh and cranie aside, the rest are poor at this level.

But last season the majority of the squad were 6th in the league at Christmas???? we lost 6 players who played in that side, Doyle, Carso, Turner, Gunner, King and Westwood! Everyone else is here still!

Did they make that much difference??? Remember as well that turner and Clingan were also injured at this time of year!

In my eyes i don't think we have a bad squad, i think we have a thin squad! For me the 3 kids have been like new signings and yesterday you could say Conor, Christie and even Hussey were the best players on the pitch!

We didn't score no i agree, but as there's no belief, confidence etc how can we score goals if the manager doesn't give each player though important ingredients to progress?

IMO the manager hasn't used the tools in the correct manner! as a result were bottom of the league with NO hope untill he goes!!!!!

Of course those players made a difference - king, Gunnar and turner scored over 20 goals between them and don't forget turner was our top scorer for ages. Westwood was worth 10-15+ points a season, murphy has already cost us at least 6 with his dodgy keeping.

Everyone wants to see passion, grit, etc - that's exactly what carsley and Doyle bring to the team. We had a very strong spine last year-we haven't now.

I know the kids are playing well and are showing the senior players up, but it's also about that bit of know how, bit of guile, etc that they haven't yet developed.

I'm not a thorn apologist but I really don't think our squad is that good, especially in the final third. GG should have buried his chance yesterday.

he should have yes i totally agree but he didn't, probably because he thought he scored before he took the shot!

You say that about Thorn but Carsley said ill play if needed, and Thorn turned him down??? To me that was a massive mistake as i think Carso in the middle with Conor and Gael would have helped alot more than Clingan and Conor and Gael!

Also yes we have missed the spine, but what got us to 6th wasn't King up top, it was Juke and Platt!

And that's the main reason why or me Thorn isn't the man, the fact also Deegan seems to have joined Eastwood on the slag heap hes starting to split the players as well!

I know it Platt and juke. But we played the percentage hoofball last season because we had the players to do it, a lot of the time keeping 11 men behind the ball, hoof win a set piece then relying on scoring from the set pieces. And that's when the physically stronger side came into it.

Although we've still got juke and platt, we haven't got that strength and physicality nor that threat from set pieces. Don't forget juke's goals were all pens first half of season.

We have definitely been more direct other the last 5 or so games.

You honestly think Thorn would be getting £8000 per week FFS the bloke was promoted from coach and probably without a pay rise...........so revise that to £2000 at very most.

If the Fat controller took the managers job without a pay rise he's a bigger c*nt than we take him for,he's Sisus front man on 8000 a week.

What do we all expect when we build a team of league one players?

We deserve to be where we are and our stats this year are truely awful. The Eastwood situation is a joke, how we can pay good money for a player in our situation when we could be spending this on quality loans is beyond me.

Our lack of anything but a diamond with attacking players in defensive roles. It's enough to boil the blood of any sky blue fan.

To think we used to play in the same league as man c and arsenal who have just played a great game of football, jees how we have fallen...

I agree with Ashdown. I doubt very much that AT got much, if any, of a pay rise when taking on the job. He took it as a stepping stone into management. I'm afraid that the gamble however has failed. I am not one of those that have called for his head before but I am now. The reason for this is that he has already dumped Freddie and now seems to be doing the same to Deegan. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Deegan BUT it does give us an insight into AT's mind. He clearly has his favourites and nothing seems to change his mind. You simply cannot act like that when managing people and for that reason I think he should go. I don't however think that any manager can save us this season.

Either that or like their previous clubs the big man has realised they are not good enough to play at this level. I don't think Thorn is a miracle worker either but he is planning for the future now and overpaid misfits who can't even keep themselves fit are not the answer.
