Doesn't make sense to me let the manager finally assemble his own sqaud and then sack him after 4 unbeaten competitive matches.
The time to sack him was end of last season if this was their intention.
I think sisu have panicked and are currently bigger trouble than we are led to believe !!!
Look at the facts players sold.
Squad assembled of freebies so no initial outlay just wages.
Unable to pay rent.
Gates low.
The only thing likely to save them was us getting off to a flyer and renew optimism and increased gate revenue.

While the timing of the sacking is certainly ripe for discussion, I don't see how it is at all indicative of SISU being in "big trouble"?

Didn't Linnel report towards the end of the phone in the Fisher said they were close to a deal? Hope this is just brinksmanship, can't bear the thought of these sharks having a hand in the stadium. Doubt the team will see any of the profits.

Coventry City would have a stake in the stadium. And maybe it is just a rent reduction anyway.

This was just poor timing, Thorne should have been either sacked at the end of last season or allowed at least 10 games this season.

As for the future and SISU
Whilst owning half the stadium will save the club money if you look at the profits made by the Arena over the last few years it is hardly the sort of money that will allow big investment in the club. As with all football clubs in the lower leagues it is a case of reducing costs, not spending milions on new players. SISU or anyone else who may buy the club will still be faced with the same scenario. We all need to accept that unless the Ricoh is filled every week the club will have to fight its way out of league 1 with the current players or those of similar abilities and a Manager of limited experince or success.

Maybe the Chinese are coming, and their first move was to bring in and experienced manager. Also sisu knew they were to take over and have paid the rent leaving it to the Chinese.
The cheap tickets at the Burton game are because the Chinese owners can afford to lose out.

Why would SISU fire the manager if they are about to sell?

We're not being taken over, we just have to hope they will spend some cash on the most important position at the club

Maybe not a desperate act on SISU's part, but the timing of it makes me think it is a broader business decision, not just a footballing one. I think the driver to this comes from somewhere within ownership and stadium negotiations, so these will have to play out before we have a permanent management appointment.
I expect us to see Shawsy in charge for some weeks at least - if he can motivate the team, that may be no bad thing as they seem to be competitive in this division, just not for 90 minutes a match!
Pure speculation on my part and if a manager is appointed tomorrow I'll be proved completely wrong.

In fairness to the useless buffoon it wasn't his fault he was appointed, SISU knew his lack of experience etc so who are buffoons

i'm slightly confused as to how, given their past record, sisu could have acted like a proper football club,
since when have they done this ?
regardless of individuals, when have these owners shown any nous as far as football is concerned ?
i feel that to blindly follow, & believe a hedge funds pronunciations is tantamount to naivity,
i may of course be wrong though, and perhaps joy seppala is the answer to our dreams,
nevertheless i wait for their next move,

Owning or should i say part owning the Ricoh isn't the issue it's commitment to re-developing the surrounding area that has to satisfy our council and ACL (is there a difference) Unless SISU have brought in viable partners to develop that land they have no chance of getting their grubby hands on the Arena.

As far as public knowledge goes there has been no further talks going on regarding sisu getting a share in the Ricoh.

This may be far fetched but .....
What If new owners are coming in, they have had talks with Sisu, one topic of discussion was the manager, the new owners stated they would bring in someone else and asked Sisu to get rid of Thorn, the reason they might do this is the decision would be unpopular with many fans (not all) therefore Sisu take the blame for sacking Thorn not the new owners and they get to come in on a clean slate and appoint their own man ? ? ?

Or is that q completely ridiculous theory ?

The people who were saying he was the next Jimmy Hill, John Sillet etc. They labelled him 'The Godfather' and claimed we were lucky to have him.

There would have been some furious supporters if Ken Dulieu had appointed anyone other than Thorn.
