We all knew it was coming, SISU are arrogant beyond believe. Appeal after appeal, even though they have no chance. They are now clearly in a state of flux not really knowing what to do, so like a wounded animal they are lashing out at anything, including their own customer base.

A Sky Blues official has dismissed an offer which could have seen Coventry City kick off the new season at the Ricoh Arena.

Tim Fisher, Coventry City chief executive, has said the club was not interested in the recent offer tabled by supporters group Keep Cov in Cov.

KCIC offered to pay the club’s rent at the Ricoh Arena for the next three years and said it would only require the club to look at reimbursing the campaign group when attendances back at the Ricoh reached above 5,000 – more than double the average attendance at Sixfields last season.

The group, lead by Michael Orton, had financial backing from a group of local businessmen - including former Sky Blues board member Gary Hoffman.

KCIC argued the deal would allow the club to return to Coventry immediately at no financial risk to the club.

Mr Fisher said: “I’m sure Michael Orton’s motivations are well meaning but these discussions have never been about rent.

“The discussion is around revenues. This club needs to control and manage its matchday revenues. That is not in his gift.

“If there were an interim deal on the table, do you not think we would pay the rent?

“We don’t need anybody to pay the rent.

“We are fully aware of the local businessman behind this. He is part of the problem, not the solution.”

Coventry City chief exec Tim Fisher
Coventry City non-executive director Mark Labovitch had initially suggested the club would discuss the deal with KCIC - but Mr Orton said his attempts to arrange a date to meet were rebuffed.

Mr Orton said: “Sisu have got to get real. They have got to do this deal. They got hammered in court and the verdict was damning and humiliating.

“Sisu’s response has been the usual spin and breathtaking arrogance. There response to KCIC has been the same.

“After a week of contact with Mark Labovitch he still has not agreed to meet.”

Following Mr Fisher’s dismissal of the offer, the group also said it would now seek to go directly to the boss of Coventry City owners Sisu.

“We can kick off the season at the Ricoh Arena, we just need Joy Seppala to say yes,” Mr Orton said.

“It could not be clearer. This is all down to Sisu.

“If they kick off the season in Northampton, that’s because it is what Sisu wants to do.”

Pie and beer money. And I think that it is the beer that would make them a lot of money. How many of us would now buy a pint just to throw over the smug twat ;)

Fair play to MO for pushing this to the top of the middle men, sisu themselves. its a shame we dont know who our real owners are so micheal could take it past the middlemen of the sisu group of companies and to the actual top men.

No, sorry. Just because he was doing something commendable doesn't mean the pick up the phone stuff wasn't valid. And that was all from himself, nothing Sisu said.

Just because you're a good guy, doesn't make you perfect or absolve you from criticism.

The thing with not wanting Hoffman or Elliot involved (paging Deleted member 5849) is that it is becoming increasingly clear that they are in fact the only people with money supporting the Sky Blues (obviously apart from Grendel), so any fan led initiative is going to involve them somehow. Not sure how you overcome that.

We all have to realise this is a battle, no a war and sisu pride themselves on not losing wars. They use any means possible to get their way. The courts, they have now lost atleast three court cases but are still adamant they are right, heaven help us should they win one. Players..they sell any player worth money and put little of it back to the manager for recruitment, instead they have a useless bloke in Steve Waggott trawling the depths hopeing to bring bargains into the club, has he brought one in yet ? They have used the ground and moved the club away from our city alienating fans without any consideration at all for them, a dirty move but one they hold the whip hand on. It is now in my opinion time for fans to unite and take this fight on or lose our football team, don't think for one minute sisu of more fittingly Joy Sepalla and this Dermot Coleman character wouldn't close us down, they have threatened it before and will do it if it suits and even out of spite. As I said this is a war and we must win it.

Tim Fisher in this latest statement has shown the world what he truly is, a prize prick. How can it be about the matchday revenues, does he really think that we are foolish enough to think that the 2000, including away support, at sixfields eat enough pies and crisps to cover the 10,000 extra who would attend the Ricoh. We know its not about the revenues, we know its all about ownership of a community asset on the cheap and in the process ripping off a charity. The bloke is a fucking idiot, why do the media continue to listen to his drivel and sound bites, after this latest statement even Labovitch must think he's from planet ZOG. Don't give the idiot the platform to speak, as he is doing nothing to reunite the club and its fans, he's just another leach earning a living from the club but doing nothing. Chief executive my arse. NOPM

I think the fact Hoffman was involved may have been a big issue for Fisher etc.

Yes, he referred to him as part of the problem. Shame he can't put personal issues asside, thought you needed to do that to be good in business?

He can still get his pie money in the new stadium and use the Ricoh for 3 years while he builds it.
The extra income from increased attendances and prices will fuel the club for a promotion push.
The fan base will be maintained so it's a win win.

No reason to reject this other than their continued selfish attempt to get the Ricoh.

Yep, I agree with that.

And if the pie money at the Ricoh is so important, he can always buy back the catering rights the club sold.

I love how everyone goes on about match day revenues when it's harming the club and then refers to it as 'pie money' once things aren't going their way. I admire the club for sticking to their guns on this one at least they're not flip flopping like the idiots that grace the pages of this forum..............

One line stands out:

Mr Fisher said: “I’m sure Michael Orton’s motivations are well meaning but these discussions have never been about rent."

They were when you were crapping on about the rent being too high, Timmy boy!

Just like I said.

We shouldn't be down he has rejected this offer we should be encouraged.

Like he and I both said why can't sisu do a deal with ACL themselves which is more likely than a third party group ffs.

I think this is encouraging news actually.

I put this on another thread, and it might be more appropriate here. It's simple stuff.

Why can't Fisher give us a simple break-down?

- Rent and revenues they achieve at Sixfields
- Rent agreement including all costs, as structured in the KCIC deal he brushed aside in the CWR interview

One has revenues, one has potentially significantly larger crowds. Should be simple to show us the net effect of both scenarios. Then we can take a judgement on the rhetoric, and judge if this is just spite or not.

No bullshit. Just that please Mr Fisher. Or Simon, can you garner some SISU wisdom on that point, without dodging, or crap about eagles and pigeons or whatever it was....

I can answer it for you MMM:

Fake Fisher said:
We will not prop up a failing business in ACL at the long term detriment of the club. While it is not ideal our hosts at Sixfields are making us very welcome and we have full access to the value that CCFC creates. We cannot return on a deal that does not involve ownership of our own ground. As such we are pressing ahead with our plans for a new stadium. P.S. Ann Lucas smells.

I don't really understand this. Who agrees what rent we pay? What about revenues? Where is the money coming from? Legally can you even have a situation where you've got some third party paying the rent to ACL on the behalf of CCFC? Have the council made any comment on this?

It sounds like a well meaning publicity stunt to try and force talks between the club and the council if I'm honest.
