Bristol City have signed 2 new players today
Pompey have signed some new players

It would not have cost us much money in getting 1 or 2 fresh players for this last push.

You continue to hamper the team and manager in every way possible.

Fecking disgrace you lot.

I will concentrate on supporting the team till the death either way but our battle with you will continue once our fate is known.

God help them? The majority of city fans these days seem to be happy clappy types who are prepared to sit back and take league 1 on the chin. Nothing will happen if were at home,to many spineless fans.

I don't want to get into a whole sisu debate... but the fact we can't sign anyone right now for 9 games while everyone around us can could make a difference to us surviving.

Bristol City will now have fresh legs in their team against us now. So will Pompey.

Pompy are making a laughing stock of the system, they have a shortage of players so the football league instead of making them play their youngsters they allow them to bring in youngsters on loan.

Totally agree..whilst our rivals are signing players for the final push we're offloading-no matter what people think of Eastwood we need bodies for the most important run of games in nearly 50 years. There seems to be a growing band of fans that think they're doing a good job...I personally believe they're not-running the club into the ground and making AT's job almost impossible are not grounds for congratulations. FFP rules are a smokescreen for their failure which the most gullible amongst us are happy to accept without question. The brushing off of the current embargo and the reasons for it by some on here make excuses for the fact they have fecked up.

Exactly how much longer are we going to keep chasing our tails on this subject? Pompey may have signed new players, but they are never a team we should aspire to model.

they've signed players but none of them are very good IMO there not playing for there teams the man city youngsters fair play to Pompey but bristol have signed to players which cant get into other championship sides so they cant be that good.

As our owners, there is no excuse for them not even bothering to compete to save our status in this league. That is if they truly see themselves as our long-term owners. It's glaringly obvious that they lost interest in the club as an investment a long-time ago.

Give it a rest. I would prefer the club was run within its means than needlessly incurring debt. If we have no budget left for loans then we have no budget - and aren't we still under a transfer embargo or have I missed something?

Im really not that fussed that other teams have signed players. We have a small squad but the team is unbeaten in four, i honestly think new additions this late in the season will imbalance and de-stableize the team.

SISU knew we didn't own the stadium when they took over and they started with pretty much a clean slate. How long are we going to be blaming the 'sins of the father'? We're getting on for nearly 5 years under this regime and this continual blaming of the grave mistakes of the past is akin to those political party supporters who defend those making a mess of the country because of the previous incumbents...I believe that excuse has expired after this amount of time.

I think the point being made is that we are under a transfer embargo and whether it's SISU or Fisher or whoever someone has fecked up in what is the most crucial period for the club for generations.

The "we're skint" argument doesn't apply in this debate. Portsmouth aren't paying a penny for any of their current loans. Had we not been under an embargo, we could've got more bodies in.

For a long, long time. It is easy to run a business into the ground, easy to spend money; it's not so easy to rebuild, though. The sins of this particular father were profound and have long-lasting consequences.

But this situation at CCFC is not politics and it's not spin. Exactly how would you go about restoring our past glories? Which private enterprise out there will buy us the Ricoh? Who out there has money to burn in their pockets? Who wishes to buy the club? As I said, it's easy to destroy, but not easy to rebuild. Richardson deserves to be quoted for an eternity, both to lend some context to SISU's tenure, but also as a warning from history when we do get back on our feet.

I know that we're skint and despite wanting us to live within our means being one of the few things SISU have right, I too still want them out. However, surely a couple of short term quality loans at this time of the season doesn't just make good footballing sense, but good business sense too? I don't see a short time roll of the dice as much of a gamble in the scheme of things with the position we're in and the rewards for staying up as opposed to going down, not only versus the reduced level of income but to make the sale a more attractive proposition is surely value for the risk/reward.

Mine too, but oddly the deal is until June so I wounder if we have mutually cancelled his contract and paid him off. This would free him up for a short term deal as his contract is up at the end of June here. It will get him games and put him in the shop window for a saving against his wages.

I don't. I've long said that the problem is less to do with penny-pinching at clubs like ours, and more to do with a lack of regulation for clubs who act recklessly with their finances. It is simply an unfair system. What I am arguing, in the context of this thread, is that we should stay the side of frugality rather than play that dangerous casino game (again); and frankly, while we have no collateral and so few fans, we don't have much of a choice.

Denied. You could make a much stronger argument that the people of Coventry are shitting on SISU - by refusing to turn up in large enough numbers to break even, the population is forcing SISU to bankroll the club from their own pockets.

The people of Coventry have a choice wether to come and support there club or not. The owners of the club should support the club as they choose to purchase it. Quite simple really isnt it.

The owners do support the club - at last count they were tens of millions of pounds in the hole. The only issue is whether they should "support" it more...which brings into play the fan factor.

If you get small crowds, you have to be run as a small team (unless you have a sugar daddy). To infer otherwise is to basically argue that the fans of Macclesfield should hold a grudge against their owners for not spending millions of pounds.
