It's the same on the hill, a pool of around 200.
There is a pool of around 4000 who attend games at Sixfields. Just because there is an average of 1500 attending across the season, doesn't mean it is the SAME 1500 every week. Given than we only have a few hundred season ticket holders, the rest of the crowd is made up of people who pick and choose games. There would have been a few people whose 1st game was on Boxing Day, but equally there are many who have attended this season who weren't there. The vast majority of those in attendance against Peterborough would have been to a game this season, it just happened that for this game a lot of them turned up (for obvious reasons). I know people who have only attended the night games this season, I know a group of people who were at the Brentford game but haven't been back since, and others who did the Bristol City game but who also haven't been back. The total number of individuals who have attended games this season I suspect is well over 4000.
The same was true at the Ricoh too, so you can scale this up. The 10,000 that attended on average last season were not the same 10,000 every week. My point is that Boxing Day didn't represent any sort of change in attitude, the numbers are entirely consistent with the rest of the season (ie shit), so people concerned about the impact of people turning up having on the chances of us coming back to the Ricoh needn't worry. The numbers will revert to the 1500 average pretty soon, and we all know those numbers are not sustainable, so I don't understand the concern.

That may well be true, I would like too see how many turned up just because they had free tickets. I think the number who actually are prepared to pay is under 1000. People say nopm is not working but they keep lowering the price to get people in as they thought we'd all be back by now.
Also I think some people went as the club released a photoshop of a new stadium. It was all a publicity stunt to get people in on Boxing Day. Let's face it any of us could have made it.

So I've been considering a one-off for the Oldham game. Even just thinking about it I feel all guilty- I can't look at myself in the mirror, and wonder if I'd be setting a worse example by compromising my principles. I console myself with the knowledge that they're losing so much money my contribution would be going straight to pay wages- but I still don't know if I'll weaken.

Won't be here for either of those, that's why Oldham is being considered at all.

Boxing Day saw a 100% increase in "home" support to witness a great result for City well done the team. Whether this increase is due to the Boxing Day phenomenon only time will tell. As I've said before if you want to then go I've got no problem with that after all its none of my business.
Boxing Day also saw a 100% increase from the previous game in the numbers on the hill 37 of us you might say a trivial number and you may be right. Let me tell you about the hillers all of them would rather be watching their team play but for different reasons can't allow themselves to enter Sixfields. Before the usual suspects start about watching for free put your tv on and cover half the screen thats what you get from the hill. The ground is within touching distance well 100 yards away and at present its cold wet and windy but the hillers dont seem to care. Not much of an advert however we will be there on Sunday why dont you join us even if its just before you go in just a thought after all we are all City fans aren't we? If not see all my friends the hillers the ones that go to Sixfields and the ones who only go to away games on New Years day. By the way Happy New Year to all City fans lets hope it brings us some good news:wave:

It's very obvious that you have never been on the hill Stupot.
You can see all of the pitch from different parts of the hill, we stand on far corner at start and you can see two thirds of playing area and far goal, normally second half we move round a little and can see the other third and near goal.
No never been to the hill.
So you're saying it's a good view of the majority of the pitch, yet when anyone has a go at those on the hill we get told you can't really see much.
No wonder I get confused. There's no way my 7 year old would be happy to stand on a hill 100-150 yards away when you can not see 2:3rds of the pitch.
