Supposing SISU were to accept the latest proposal and move back to the Ricoh, would it change the attendance figures so much as to be worthwhile?

Everyone is assuming Ricoh = 11,000 fans but does it? I for one would not go back for as long as those parasites are at the club and this is a fairly newly formed opinion since they moved us out the city and ignored every supporter in the process.

Suppose we moved back, how many would go? If that figure was closer to 5000 what would SISU stand to gain with the increased match day costs and potential penalty from leaving Sixfields? And not to mention of course weakening their own hand when trying to distress ACL.

Do SISU realise this hence the offer being rejected?

...back in Cov & playing better football....actually competing in the division for the first time in donkeys years....

...but I'm sure there would still be the missing 20,000 that would only come back if a whiff of a Wembley ticket came about....

I haven't been to Sixfields, but if the club moved back to the Ricoh, despite my hatred of SISU I would go back, as I miss home games, going to see my team in its home city.

I can apprecaite why people wouldnt go, but I just want to start thinking about the football first and the politics second...if that can be done.

My sentiments exactly. Can't see me ever going back whilst SISU/OTIUM/ARVO are still part of the club. Too much damage has been done.

They will have to pull out one hell of a rabbit out of the hat for me to change my attitude towards them.

I would go because I want to see us play our home matches in Coventry. Can't stand Sisu/Otium and what the do and the way they do it and would hope they fuck off into the sunset but for me, the main thing is seeing us in Cov again

First game - sellout - guaranteed
second game - 15-20k
next games -11-15k depending on performance

ONLY way to consistently improve attendance figures is by building the season ticket base - our fans have been reluctant to buy season tickets over the past few seasons due to lack of belief in the team the following season

The REAL disaster was the summer before our first season in League one - a crap manager who should have been sacked, best players all sold and SISU clueless about how this would all backfire - I think we went from circa 9,000 to 4,000 ST that summer and that stuffed us.

I wouldnt go but it would go up by many thousands for sure, especially if they kept ticket prices similar till next year to make up for the lack of season ticket sales. I'd be surprised if it were lower than 8k.

Its a good point you raise Magic ,the disenfranchised,The absolute loathing i have for them,then on the other

hand ,some lapsed fans may return ,"you never know what you've got till Its Gone etc" .I think It would at least be around last years 11K.

I think Its too late now ,this week Is the parting of the ways ,and permenently I think . Time to wind down KCIC ,well Intentioned ,but really a wave for SISU to ride.

Let them build the new one ,after the concept has been talked of for what 9 months now,Lets see the colour of all this money we're told they have.

Will I be there In 5-10 yrs -----Never ?? I may be bloody dead by then ............Wankers.

Tricky one really, I loath the cretins and begrudge every penny. I certainly wouldn't commit to a season ticket with them at the helm. They need to go, the City of Coventry largely hates the bastards !

I have said before that the majority of the 90% who don't go to Sixfields are sick and tired of the politics, the bickering and the bullshit, whoever produces it. They just want to get back to watching the team in the city. So as soon as they return, and given the fact that the team is doing well, I have no doubt that there would be gates of around 15000. This despite the incompetence and intransigence of the owners.

I accept that a few will not go on principle, just as some go to Sixfields regardless of how badly fans are treated. But the vast majority fall between those extremes and just want the chance to see their team play where they belong.

I know that it makes no difference who owns the Ricoh.
So I will be back at the Ricoh as soon as we return.
I will also buy 2 shirts and a season ticket.
I don't mind paying for warm beer and hard pies if the club get the profits, but take sandwiches until they do.

SISU weren't clueless to how it would pan out.

I live not far from Ipswich and at the time worked for a bank looking after high net worth clients, one of which was a Mr Paul Clouting who had just joined Coventry. He said then that SISU had asked him what would happen if they got rid of the top earners and fielded the youth team (to think they didn't actually know for themselves what would happen!) he told them in no uncertain term we would be relegated and advised against this - This was a conversation we had way before SISU started selling our players and fielding the youth team, and of course he turned out to be right.

KCIC would have been complete so why wouldnt attendances improve? I can understand why some wouldnt go but chances are alot of them didnt attend when we fell out of the championship (not all before one of you growls at me!).

People have been starved of football for a while and alot would be coming back however talk of 'sellouts' is just daft.

I'm curious to understand some of the logic behind some peoples predictions. Were getting figures quoted way in excess of our last season average and that was before SISU took us to Northampton. Also, the thread should have come with a poll, as there are lots of people saying they would not now go because of what's happened, I can only assume that these people once formed part of the 11,000 strong of last season.

Backs up the theory that SISU wanted us relegated - they realised we couldn't compete in the Championship, and the only way to get 'success' (i.e. winning matches) was to play in a lower league.

Contrary to all the rubbish spouted on here about us realistically achieving average gates of 15k this season due to the improved form, I don't believe on return to the Ricoh the average would be over 10k. There are those who won't return whilst SISU are in charge and plenty more who are fair-weather at best and wouldn't watch City regularly at this level regardless of who is in charge.

And as you know with some of our mates, it's keeping them in there for the whole game that's the trouble. I was speaking to the Longfella after they all went down to MK and he said they missed all the goals as they had all left for the pub.
