Here's a novel idea .... How about all Cov based fans go to the sheff utd game and generate an party like atmosphere and actually support the team ....
this thread would be so different if we had lost the last 2 games.
In my opinion, and its just my opinion, but I bet TF is laughing his socks off at this. NOPM, right up until we win 2 games, then lets head to 30 odd miles away to our "home games".
This shiuldnt be about short term, its about us not becoming the "Warwickshire Bears" or something like that

I think you are right about attitudes after winning games, but isn't that what its all about? If SISU are so bad how come we have won the last 2 games?
It is easy for people to get behind a slogan, "Not one penny more", "Keep Coventry in Coventry" and the original "SISU OUT".
Each sentiment has some justification behind it, but I have reservations about all of them.
NOPM - This will hit the club before it hits SISU and diverting money to ACL/CCC is just plain bananas!
KCIC - The best of the bunch - but maybe some short term pain is justifiable for long term survival?
SISU OUT - the mother of them all! but.... if SISU go out we wouldn't have anyone to finance the club.
Its very short sighted just to say SISU OUT without having anybody else to come in! OK we have Heskell & Byng still in the background but do we know either of them would be any better than SISU?
I haven't seen anyone promoting "PHK4 IN" or "BYNG IN" but without one or the other in we'd be a darn site worse off with "SISU OUT"!
In fact even with Byng or Heskell in all we could expect would be the start of a learning curve similar to that we have just had with SISU.
So what do we want from a "good" owner?
I would say "Pay the bills, appoint a good manager and then stay out and leave him to do his job."
Aren't SISU now coming quite close to meeting that objective?
Haven't SISU done quite a good job in turning it round?
Costs are down (especially the rent!), the manager looks a goodun! the team is leaner and meaner and despite tighter costs we are begining to show signs of stringing together some good results?
Ok SISU have made some bad mistakes, but in trying to be impartial I think they are now pretty close to my definition of "good owners"
Why don't we "GET BEHIND THE TEAM" and "GIVE SISU ONE LAST CHANCE"?

We probably would give them a chance but not while the biggest mistake they made is still uin Place Playing in Northampton!!!
Bring the team home and then most of us will return at a heartbeat...

Well according to ACL, Joy allegedly said that we wouldn't be coming back to the Ricoh unless she got the Freehold at her price. We've heard nothing from Joy/Tim/SISU/CCFC on this matter since that meeting - have we?Its not clear whether the fault for not agreeing a Ricoh deal lies with SISU, ACL or CCC.
The truth is none of us know enough to pronounce who's fault it really is!
While a deal has not been done we had no choice other than to play at Sixfields.
A deal can be done tomorrow! We should press all of them to get a deal done!
I hope something is still going on in the background!
"DO THE DEAL"

Well it's interesting to not that it's never been denied by SISU/Joy and you would have thought with her preference for legal action if there was anything defamatory in the statement (i.e. any of it was untrue) then she would have picked up the Hotline to her lawyers and got them moving. If ACL said it, it must be true.

I disagree about smaller protests, I think even one person at Sisu/FL is worth it and at worst does no harm.
Interesting I was on a train when that was broadcast if it was the match directly after the ownership meeting.Pretty sure Mark L denied it when he was interviewed on cwr earlier in the season.
ACL statement said:Mr Fisher has also now chosen to make factually inaccurate public statements relating to the meeting attended by Joy Seppala as well as ACL Board members on Thursday 25 July. It is interesting to note Mr Fisher’s failure to mention Ms Seppala’s verbal statement during this meeting, made in the presence of her own lawyers that the only circumstance in which the Club would return to the Ricoh would be upon SISU assuming full ownership of the venue without any negotiation on purchase price. Ms Seppala also stated at this meeting her intention to continue to threaten ACL and its shareholders with expensive litigation at every possible opportunity. Perhaps the fact that Mr Fisher was not himself present at this meeting has distorted his view of what was really discussed.
Not sure if anyone asked ever them.Did ACL ever say if they offered the £150,000 rent deal to sisu?

SixReasons Not To Go To Sixfields this Sunday - updated in response to comments! And I still haven't had a single answer to point 6...
1. The cold, hard reality is that every City fan inside sixfields helps the justification of the move to Northampton – when looking at the big picture, individual reasons for going don't alter that reality.
2. A short-term move could have been justified if a new ground in Coventry was guaranteed but no new site has been purchased, no planning application has been submitted etc etc. There is no concrete evidence that a new ground will be built or that moving out of Coventry is temporary.
3. Support the team not Sisu! We can go to away games or even watch from Jimmy's Hill, but for this Sunday the best option is…
4. On 25 August we can support a Sky Blues team at the Ricoh - Coventry City Ladies FC (£5, or £3 for concessions – kick off 2pm).
5. Let’s think about the next generation of City fans – not going to sixfields is short-term pain for the long-term gain of getting CCFC back to Coventry.
6. If people want CCFC to return to Coventry but go inside sixfields, what is the suggested strategy instead of not one penny more and boycotting Northampton?
Be nice if a few questions were asked...
If you want Sisu to go, don't give them your money.
If you want Sisu to go, support events at the Ricoh, because distressing ACL is the only plan they have. The sooner they realise that isnt going to work the sooner they will sell up.
Sisu are the problem, they have failed CCFC as a business and the City of Coventry at every level.
I don't get the whole support ACL slant, they are partly to blame for the position we're in.

Stupot, something we can agree on! I was in the High Court when during the morning the acl spin team were boasting like crazy only for the acl barrister then to get ripped to shreds by the Judge to a point where it was frankly embarrassing. From a campaigning perspective I know exactly what I'm doing with sisu and the Football League but I regularly ask people who are criticising acl what it is we should be asking acl to do. Any ideas very welcome.

Ideas?..... We need ACL to fall on their own sword!
The essential parts of this equation are CCC who own the freehold of the stadium and SISU who own the club.
ACL is not an essential part of this world it is an entity created out of the air by CCC when the stadium was born.
ACL was created because the council was embarrassed - both to "own it" when they had only put in £10m equity having hijacked the project originally started by CCFC and also to run it because they are a town council!
ACL was originally meant to be 50% CCFC & 50% council.
Somehow somewhere along the line the Higgs got roped in when CCFC were caught a bit short!
In this current world where we have owners with funds, ACL do nothing more than get in the way.
But what if that sale price of the freehold that allegedly Joy demanded for any chance of our return to the Ricoh was say less than the Higgs gave us for our share of the project?CCC should sell the Stadium to CCFC and ACL are superfluous!
We don't need to think what to do with them, without the stadium the have no reason for being!
imp:
Yes but at the same time if SISU spot that your average Sky Blues fan would rather go and watch an event in their home city rather than head 35 miles to Sixfields it might encourage them to drop their NOPM against ACL. It would also show that they can't distress ACL out of business that way and will either have to return to the negotiating table or just revert to type and sue anything that moves connected with ACL.
But what if that sale price that allegedly Joy demanded for any chance of our return to the Ricoh was say less than the Higgs gave us for our share of the project?
