SkyBlueArchive – The history Coventry City

skybluearchive.co.uk skybluearchive.co.uk

What a fantastic resource this will become as it develops. I have a ton of stuff I have collected over the years and inherited from my late step dad that I will share with the Project.

Lots of info about matches including line ups, attendances, etc. Brilliant.

Wish sites like this would make the raw data available. Much more useful than a HTML page. Tried writing a scraper for transfermarkt the other week to work out strike rates before during and after strikers were at city and it was a bitch

If only I'd taken a camera with me when I looked after HRs telecomms back in the day. I knew every nook and cranny.

Mentions a museum. That's what I'd really love to see and have said so for years. Ideally a permanent one and close to the city centre like the motor museum.

Looks class and will certainly give an opportunity for those neutral or supporters (who want to) to learn more about the club

Yes, could incorporate an American style 'Hall of Fame' with new inductees every year. I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been something similar done in the UK by any other club, or even a generic one by the FA.

Its great to be able to have an All in one Place summary of every game, the amount of detail is fantastic and having the videos of the highlights is a real bonus.

Got loads of old programmes some flags, shirts, hats and books and some tat from as far back as early 80s. A museum would be great to donate to but doubt financially viable.

Given the amount of empty units in town could you not convert something there. Would actually be a reason to go into the city centre.

Why not have a Coventry Sports museum to cover us, CRFC, Blaze, Bees and everyone else that has been here over the years (apart from Wasps obv).

Could also have a combined store for all the current teams and a ticket office.

Something in the vicinty of the Sky Blue Tavern would work well, right in between CRFC and the Skydome and relatively close to the city centre.

Or even a room in the Herbert (I know they used to have some CCFC stuff).

Blaze can fuck off though.

That's fantastic. There's a player which always stuck in my head who I could never trace and wondered whether he actually existed. I remember playing away at Rotherham (Millmoor) and chanting what his name to what was in my head as ''Zulu! Zulu! Zulu!''. I never forget the look on his face as he was petrified. I could never find him though, until now. His name was Christian Yulu! Well I can die in peace now.

Not sure what the cost would be, but if it was something along the lines of the 2 Tone Museum, it might work if there was also a club shop and gift shop attached to it.

Why not just a Museum of Coventry that covers music, sport and anything else. Could be an add on to the transport museum or Herbert

Great idea. Have contacted them direct as would like to donate our CCFC memorabilia, books, pictures etc. collected over the past 60 years.

The more I look into it the better it gets. You can watch the highlights from any game by the looks of it. They should put that feature front and centre of the site!

On a lot of the old ones (to me early/mid-80s) don't have any video, although there's a video tab. I'll drop them a message with that suggestion. They're more than welcome to link to the videos I uploaded to YouTube years back MusicDating

It's a brilliant resource, I love the notes about each game!

Hopefully Brad Collins doesn't spot me in town when he's 'carrying'

*edit before anyone else gets in: he'd probably drop it or miss
