Sorry to say, I look below first. I don’t want us to keep sliding down the table. I don’t think I’m being overly pessimistic, I just think that mid table would be a decent season for us.
Quite like it when there are draws in other games, as nobody gains much. It is what has cost us in recent games too. 'Good' results against Bournemouth, Sheff Utd, Huddersfield etc collectively hamstring movement up the league (compared to the old 2pts for a win system)
Couldn't care less at this stage, too long to go & league (as usual) too close. 2 or 3 results on the bounce can propel you almost halfway up/down the table.
I think older city fans always instinctively look to see what's going on below us. I remember for long periods in the 1970s and 80s thinking that 7th / 8th from bottom wasn't a disaster, rather than thinking we're 16th or 17th from top.
