Thanks. Can't see how having the trust involved in the running of the club could be anything but a good thing.Gets the fans views across and keeps the fans in touch of what's going on.Hi Quinn welcome
Not that we don't get on we all have the club at heart just that some non members seem to want to slate the trust at any occasion, that is the only reason I started posting to try and show that the trust do good work. I just got dragged down to their level
If I am the cause of anybody not joining then all of you join vote to kick me out and i wont sue you for my quid
I'm not totally sure what the TRUST stands for...
What are their aims/objectives?
How do they hope to accomplish their aims/objectives?
Will it be a democracy? Ie; will members get a say in who represents them?
The Trust is an independent, democratic, legally constituted, not for profit supporters group. Board members are elected by the membership (I'm membership sec). With events happening so fast the Trust's position is developing as advocating a fan-led ownership model. What is happening at Portsmouth is the Pompey Supporters Trust has raised £2-3 million by individual fans buying a share for £1,000 each (they have worked with a local credit union to provide a loan/savings scheme for people who cannot pay £1,000 in an upfront lump sum). Co-investors, 6-8 fans who are not billionaires but are better off, have contributed a slightly smaller total amount. A developer, who is not a fan, has entered a purely commercial contract relating to land around Portsmouth’s Fratton Park ground. This will yield a profit for the developer and several million pounds for the club. What we need to do is adopt and adapt a fan-led ownership model that fits the circumstances of CCFC. The only priorities should be the team and the fans. We want to work in partnership with co-investors and other parties with an interest in CCFC, and we call on others to buy into our vision of a succesful CCFC on the pitch based on sound finance and a long-term sustainable business plan under fan-led ownership.
So you May be asking some members to 'live beyond their means' and take out an interest free loan? ... Sounds familiar!
what sort of percentage are you looking ay acquiring and how much do you think it will cost (ball park figure will do)
Why do you think I carried it on? Remember I didnt know if you supported the Trust or not
Maybe you should have considered that before you started.
Always a good idea to see what someone's opinion is before having a go at them for having that opinion.
£1k is a lot of money so the Pompey savings scheme was intended to help people who wanted to buy a share but hadn't got that much money lying around.
What matters at this stage is establishing the principle of fan-led ownership and getting co-investors and other parties to buy into it. The reality is that no one has any idea how much or little a change of ownership would cost so pinning down numbers and a specific model is not time well spent. Adopting and adapting a suitbale model for CCFC will be key
Sorry if I have offended you I will not be posting on this site again bye
Have you approached sisu to ask them if they would talk to their investors (the owners) if they would let you co-invest with them?
Hi all only joined the forum today so go easy. With all the trouble going on at the club shouldn't we all be pulling together on forums like this.we all want what's best for the club.Just my opinion but its the first time I've been on here, and id think twice about joining the trust if the members on here don't get on.Preparing for my first slating ...go easy
I'm new here myself; yes you are right, we all should be pulling in the same direction... But the question is.., which direction?
from the minute the new owners come in it would be ideal to have a fans voice straight away.If it was me buying the club, the first thing id do would be to get the fans onside. Not had a voice at our club for far too longThe Trust is a concrete option with clear aims and strategy. Some people say fans can do nothing and we just have to wait and see what new owner emerges and new owners may/may not be any better than those we've had over the last 15+ years. I don't agree wiith that view but at least I understand it. But when people say fans should be pulling in the same direction, but which direction - I'm afraid I really don't understand what is the option, strategy and goal that is being suggested.
Overseveral months we have held meetings with all interested parties including sisu, acl, the council etc etc. With the Administrator now in place the situation is very different. Our strategy is therefore to make the case for fan-led ownership and seek to work in partnership with co-investors who share our vision of a successful CCFC. Interestingly, but again may not be relevant to us, at Pompey none of the co-investors had any previous connection with the club other than being fans. I think when Swans trust first formed and saved Swansea only one co-investor had previous connections with the club. If you want more info have a look at Pompey Trust and related 12th man website which has an excellent prospectus and FAQs section. Swans Trust site is really interesting especially the history section.
