Looking to get hold of some Sky Blues Legends for 10mins of there time:

Dave Bennett, Micky Gynn, Kevin Gallagher, Bobby Gould, John Silett, Cyrille Regis.

Managed to track down Dublin, Huckerby, Strachan, Kilcline, Oggy and Busst.

If anyone has any contact info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Only legends there are John Sillett, Dublin (regardless of where he went after), Killer, Gynn and Oggy in my opinion.

What we'd do for a player like Dion these days.

A bloke in a pub told me Richardson had (or tried to) f**k him over, hence the unsavory ending. Apparently Dion had more integrity to go whining to the press about it afterwards. He was a bloke in a pub though, you should always be wary of what blokes in pubs say. "Dog's can't look up".

Such a shame that there is still a cloud over his name he is discussed some 15 years later.

Oh right! Well the Micky Gynn I've been emailing is a great bloke still! I did find it odd that he never really engaged with any conversations I started about football; preferring instead to discuss the mating habits of chimpanzees, his curiosity of tran5exuals, and male personal hygiene (images included), not necessarily in that order!

I must admit that I'm now having second thoughts about meeting up with him at Wayside Business Park tonight! Although he has promised to sign my 87/88 City home shirt!

You are correct about Richardson trying to manipulate Dion Dublin to a transfer to Blackburn within weeks of signing a new contract at City, Dublin quite rightly told him if I am to move then it will be to a club of my choosing so off he went to Aston Villa and that is what riles small minded Cov fans going to Villa.

Last I read, Jimmy was in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimers, poor feller. Awful disease.

As for the Dion/Villa/Richardson thing. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I always cringe when thinking about our one sided rivalry with them. They really didn't give a shit about us all that much.

Even worse was when some of our fans sang songs at Dion reveling in his neck break.

Would love to know what Dion thinks about his time at Cov and his feelings towards the club and fans after his departure. He's never really said a lot but I get the impression he looks at how some of our fans treated him with some bitterness?

I'm with you, Dion is a legend. I love to hate the Vile though, one side or not.

He did a nice interview about his time with us for one of the nationals at the start of the season, dont remember which one but pretty sure there was a thread on here about it. The interview was about the move to suxfields but he talked alot about HR and how it could have a great atmosphere to play in and be intimidating for the away team. He spoke with alot of passion about the club and it was clear he enjoyed his time with us.

i think he's supposed to be playing in the legends vs forces charity match at the ricoh in May. Got to be worth going just to see him pull the shirt on again, never mind its a good cause. i think i still have a replica shirt somewhere with Dublin on, dont think it fits anymore though.

I think I've still got the black and green early 90'saway shirt with 19 Dublin on the back. Good times!

Hope he gets a good ovation from our fans at the Charity game. Easily our most influential and probably overall our best player from the Premier League era.

You're wrong about us and Villa. My office is in Brum and a lot of them hated us too with a lot of it coming from there away trips to Highfield Road. I saw it as a bit of a triangle like Forest, Derby and Leicester with Derby and Forest hating each other the most but both certainly having a dislike with Leicester. With Blues not spending much time in the top flight then one of Villa's derbies became us because West Brom and Wolves were too wrapped up in each other, yes Blues and Villa hate each other with a passion but Villa still did not like us. I used to love the Villa away days more so than Leicester if I am honest and there was always the same feeling from them about us in my opinion.

I agree with you, they certainly seemed very pleased with themselves when we went down and the Holte End sang us a fair well.
As I recall it was never particularly friendly outside either.

A mate who is a Villa fan, dimisses us as a total irrelevance, but I'm sure this is a windup used by many Villians over the years.

There was a good thread on their forum about our demise. Most of them stated their dislike for us, hated the trips here in the 80s and 90s. Best thing I've read for ages.

Their worst fans are the wankers who live in Warwick and Leamington. Complete divs.

Agree entirely. Its embarrassing reading the anti-Villa stuff on this forum when they have never given a fuck about us.
