Carl Baker gets taken out by Kevin McDonaldCoventry City have taken steps to block Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters snapping up spare home tickets for the penultimate game of the season.
The club have given promotion-chasing Wolves an allocation of 2,000 for the last Sixfields match of the campaign on Saturday, April 26, and insist visiting fans purchase their tickets through their own club channels.

City say that under no circumstances should Wanderers’ supporters buy or attempt to purchase tickets in the Coventry home stands.
Any supporter attempting to register with Coventry City but with no previous purchase history with the club will not be permitted to buy a ticket for this all-ticket fixture.

The Northampton venue has a capacity of 7,653 but the attendance of Coventry supporters has dropped well below 1,500 in recent weeks, dipping as low as 1,141 against Walsall and 1,282 against Port Vale on Sunday, according to official club figures.

Why not just allocate the main stand to the city fans and let wolves have the rest!! This fixture would have been about 25000 at the Ricoh. Well done Sisu!!!

There's the stand opposite the main stand which isn't opened they might as well let Wolves fans have that as well.

They have no morals,They will back down nearer the time all they can see will be pound signs!!! If Sisu said it was tuesday i would still check my calendar to make sure !!!
I think every City fan should stay away for this one and just give wolves 7,000 they would fill it alone.

Good on the club. I see they are taking 9000 to MK Dons too.

I really hope we are safe by then so I can concentrate on not taking any notice of this game. I'm cringing thinking about it already.
10000 or more yam yams dominating our 'home support' not even in our own city. Fuck that. Embarrassing.

Roll on the world cup.

Surely they would have just done that already?? Fair play to them on this one but i think i would have increased the price then given them an extra 2000 to make more money for the club.
I think havign 7000 away fans is a bad idea, we still actually want to get a result out of this game, dont we?? (although i think some fans would rather see SISU fail that city win at times..)

Wont both sets of fans be supporting Wolves on the day anyway ?

Hopefully we will be safe by then, and a Wolves win may mean promotion, which means £250k extra for CCFC.

This could be the only time a Webster / Seabourne central defence would be worthwhile !

Clearly SISU don't even want CCFC to earn any money what so ever....

Game at the Ricoh and it might well have been around 23,000 - 24,000 I reckon.

Only if we'd allocated 8,000 tickets to wolves.

Reading between the lines. .....if their fans buy tickets for any game before that one they will get a ticket. ..so they will be able to sell more tickets to other games and also have a sellout against Wolves whilst looking like they haven't planned it.

What are they going to do, say that you need a CV postcode to get a ticket for this one........ The irony!! :)

How odd, do they not get enough home fans at Northampton games to need to use it?

The club is putting in new conference facilities, and making the East stand a two tier stand. New hotels and houses being built outside.

They benefit from a 150 year lease on the area.

I know they're doing work, just seems a bit odd to do it in the middle of the season and cause a stand to be closed. If they can do that it implies they don't need the capacity which makes extending the ground a strange plan.

Why would there be trouble? if your a Coventry fan at the game why would you punch a wolves fan where there are targets so much more deserving?
