The way people are talking about slashing the wage bill by selling Christie baker etc and not affording this or that you would think we were Crawley, Stevenage or Colchester who run things on a shoe string with small crowds and small mentality -We are Cov City with a massive fan base and massive City, and Massive club - The club have said officially as reported to Nikki Sinclair on Friday that they can cover any loses well put your money where your mouth is keep are players and add to the squad irrelevant where we play and what circumstances we are in as with the constant small mentality brain wash we will soon lose are identity. It is also not the fans fault that we play in front of 2,000 fans at home your choice not our doing - run the club like it should be mingling with the bigger boys Wolves and Sheffield united and back your words about covering any loses or shortfalls and maybe some of the fans might start thinking differently- If you sell any players tomorrow it will show without question you are not in this for the long term - we are watching

if you mean who, then Joy Seppala, she & the other mystic Dermot Coleman drew close on £360,000 last year,
for what you may ask ?
& i'd echo that

yes, st07, you may carry on with a negative mindset,
just, maybe, the phoenix may rise from the ashes,
doubtless though, you will deride CCFC fans,

I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. We are not a massive club with a massive fan base,

No we are none of these.

A club that spent 34 years in the top flight, and had a significant impact on the game, one of only 4 clubs outside the PL to have an attendance in excess of 30k, a City ranked as Britain's 12th biggest and in the top 100 of Europe's biggest cities.

With the right investment playing back at the Ricoh and the eventual goal of getting to the premiership we are as big as anyone particularly Cardiff, West Brom, Swansea,Palace, Fulham just a few names in the premiership now - 32,000 last season for a Micky mouse cup says we can attract big crowds with the right investment and show the fans are starved of success

Is that ever or just last season? Did anyone one else offer a cup semi final at £5 per ticket and a guaranteed wembley ticket if the tie was won?

Our highest league attendance was 8k less than sheff utds and 3k less than Portsmouths.

If we had charged normal admission prices many would have turned up that night?

Dont think anyone has doubted EVER that with the right situation we can get back to where we belong in the premiership - A couple of seasons back we were 4th in the league (Championship) Leeds at home 28,000 (full price) we sold all our best players a couple of games after that - Chelsea in the cup 30,000 - WBA cup nearly 30,000 - (Away) Man utd 11,000 - spurs and arsenal last season 6,000 - 8,000 - the fan base is large the club is large - the mind set seems to be getting smaller

Crawley average attendence - 3504
Shrewsbury - 5734
Colchester - 3529

These clubs also have money from shirt sales, from corporates, from shirt and stadium sponsorship and other sponsorship, whats our average attendance going to be? 2.5k if we are lucky. If Sisu stay and we stay in northampton we're going to wish we had the resources of these "shoe string" teams.

Has Baker ever signed a contract extention since he arrived from Stockport? if not who is saying he's on a big wage?

This post makes me laugh!
Coventry to us is Northampton or say Crawley at best to the rest!
Even in the prem, we had gates of 15k at best!
We won the cup thanks to Lloyd's wayward cross clipping the Spurs player & going in!
How many years was survival our only hope in the prem!
But Cov is my team, even if the rest hate us!
JS & co are in the business of getting rid of debt!
Trust me CCFC has been a big success for them, with added free publicity for Sisu/Otium/Arvo etc
How much debt have they flushed through our club?

Last season In the premiership our worst home average- we averaged over 21,000 fans not 15,000
