Six options.......

New stadium whatever happens with the JR.

SISU win and try to revoke their original terms but slightly better terms.

SISU win judge says they can be compensated they try to go for enough to walk away.

SISU lose they stop the funding

SISU lose and build new stadium.

Does that about sum up the possible outcomes?

SISU rent the Ricoh again

Having now seen SISU's case and not the councils I think SISU will win some of the case but the Judge will not reverse the decision or allow SISU to apply for compensation.

I think he will say this on the grounds of SISU themselves contributing to the situation.

I can't see them building a new stadium.

I think they will then renegotiate a favourable long term rent deal. They will go for one promotion then disappear.

Recouping as much as they can selling a football club on decent financial footing in the championship tied into a dirt cheap long term rent

A new stadium is not an option imo. SISU will either ultimately get their grubby hands on the Ricoh if they win the JR, or if they lose sell up or liquidate us.

I will ride naked on a horse through the streets of Coventry if so much as one brick is laid in this new stadium.

I am not completely convinced this will get to court.
What will happen when the press starts to print some of the delicate mails and reports that went into the public domain yesterday?
I would at least hope that would raise some debate outside the message boards.

Potentially, it depends on how good Weber Shandwick are at putting a positive spin on it.

It appears I started a thread at the same time ........ anyway:

I think the higgs-sisu court battle revealed a few things of interest:

1) SISU will clearly not fund a new stadium, it is the Ricoh or nothing now - so if they lose possible liquidation/takeover? Are the new owners going to

2) Chris West has a few things to answer for - could lead to SISU win?

Either way this could still hurt us for a couple of years. If SISU lose they will clearly appeal (note how they didn't appeal the higgs court decision - got enough info they need for JR?)

If SISU win, ACL will have to pay back the loan and get it elsewhere ........ sisu may sue for damages playing at Sixfields - how long could ACL survive?

Two devils fighting it out, is it going to be better the devil you know in this case .........?

New stadia is a load of baloney, however, thats a bold claim.
Was it pulis or holloway that got stung and had to bare their arse in a shop window??

Judge has to say if they can go for damages. He can block them going for it if he thinks they were in anyway partly responsible for the situation

But do you not think that people were aware that these would be made public, especially if they were not buried. Paper trails always lead somewhere and if people were aware that they were in existence then I am sure that if said people were that worried then we would already be playing back at the Ricoh. Don't forget, CCC people stand to lose far more if they are found to be dishonest, we just expect dishonestly and poor form from the likes of hedge funds because that's the world they operate in.

So on to the main event.

While this weeks case has covered a different area I wonder if anything that has been revealed with change either sides approach to the JR or what happens should SISU win. A JR victory in itself is unlikely to get SISU the Ricoh so a case for damages would most likely follow.

I suspect SISU would have to demonstrate that ACL / Higgs / CCC have acted in a manner which has caused a loss of revenues to SISU. The route they seemed to be taking was some sort of conspiracy to work behind SISUs back. Given that we have now seen that the talks between ACL and YB happened months after SISU had stopped negotiating and that Higgs and CCC aren’t particularly working as one won’t that have an impact on any such case?

Maybe that is the hope we can cling on to at the moment, SISU may reconsider the JR route and come back to the table as even if they win they may not get substantial damages. We need some sort of sign of hope!

BTW, If SISU couldn’t afford to pay a few million for Higgs share without getting it on credit what hopes have they got of being able to raise funds for a new stadium?

The initial focus will be on the CCC loan for the mortgage and whether it is deemed to fall into illegal state aid. It will look at whether the correct procedures were followed. It is not necessarily concerned with the outcome of that loan.

Those accounts may become relevant if SISU are allowed to seek compensation which the judge has to authorise, it is not a given.

I am not so sure these mails can be used in court ... the questions the judge will ask is how were they obtained. Were the obtained legally or illegally considering hacking a government system is a criminal offence

Remember the statements with these emails was ignored by the by the judge.

I doubt these confidential emails can be used without an explanation of how SISU obtained them... If legally then they may have a good case but I don't see a judge being happy to endorse this.

like ive mentioned before ,it was sisu who left the ricoh ,im still in the mind set that ccfc would never have been told they could not play at the ricoh what ever happened on the business side ,so if there is a shred of truth in what I was told by the Walsall physio/trainer on the day we beat them 5.1 at the ricoh ,how can they claim anything for going to sixfields ,it was ther choice to go. i was waiting for the council and acl to take over matchday takings to recoup/collect the rent with the leagues approval .I would have thought this to have been the best way forward .

I don't believe they were or ever could be due to the lease /License agreement the Club held that the FL Insist on.

Any simple normal rental arrangement would have typically led to the gates being closed ,all possessions out In the front garden.

that we would never be evicted from playing at the ricoh ,it was a written clause as a gesture to the fans of the club, and club ,not whoever the owners where .I was delivering at the banks stadium and they were boarding the coach on the way to the ricoh.I was takng the mick and mucking about then got into the convo with a physio / trainer ,he was up front and seemed honest in what he was saying . I was quite worried because at that time, I like everyone, was unsure of our future , as at that time it was obvious we were in trouble not paying the rent and id mentioned ground sharing .it was at this point I was told about the clause and he ended with don't worry ,the only way you wont be at the ricoh is if your owners walk away from it

Interesting stuff if accurate (from the Walsall chap that is). A "smoking gun" - firm evidence of trying to break ACL, lease etc.....?
