I hit a 60 front 9. It was the worst 9 holes I've ever played. My excuse is that there was snow on the ground and the greens were closed for the first 3 holes.

But it was a tale of two halves as I hit a 40 back 9, which is the best I've ever played 9 holes.

I bought some lessons at Lutterworth on Groupon a few weeks back, so I'm going to book them up and see if I can keep the form going.

Wow - 40 is pretty impressive. I don't play enough so my rounds usually consistent of a mixture of 1 or 2 pars, 3-4 bogies, and a load of 8-10's!

Had a few lessons last year, which improved me a bit but it's difficult to get out of bad habits!

I couldn't believe the 40 tbh. I only played 2 bad shots on the back 9. One of which meant I overshot the green and went into a stream at the back so had to take a drop. It was at West Midlands and I sunk a 25-30 foot putt to birdie the 18th. I have never played so well in all my life. My average is 102 with my best ever being 94.

The 18th is the island in the picture below.

Me and water don't get on very well when it comes to golf. I always joke that I might as well just throw my first ball straight in to get it over and done with!

That's a great hole to play that 18th! I tend to hit 2 or 3 balls just because I enjoy it, regardless if they land on the green or not! I tend to land towards the back edge tho. 40 is a awesome back 9! I tend to hit a 100 round on average.

For some reason I always play a 6 Iron and land on the front. My mate always hits a club or two less than me and he plays a pitch/9 iron depending on the wind.

If anyone fancies a round anytime let me know. Always enjoy playing with different people.

i played Hellidon Lakes the other day, hit 48 on the way out and an appalling 54 coming in. It started pissing it down at about the 14th and i have never been so wet playing golf, thankful for my gortex jacket but as i was not wearing waterproof trousers it ran straight into them!

Good day though!
