We all know things are dire off the park at the minute but equally CCFC are currently on the crest of a massive slump breaking records as each week passes for lowest wins, lowest points, lowest goals etc. - and we all appear to accept the inevitable of looking forward next season to:

a long trip to CARLISLE
a local derby at NOTTS COUNTY
a seaside visit to BOURNMOUTH
a sunny journey to YEOVIL
etc.

There are 24 games left and 72 points up for grabs but we appear to be sleepwalking to the 3rd Division (and have been for some time) 100% resigned to relegation.

The intransigence of the manager in persisting with this wretched DIAMOND bollix week after week, loss after loss, which is clearly NOT WORKING and not experimenting with a Plan B should not be tolerated any longer and indeed at most clubs it would have resulted in a few P45's being handed out long ago.

Surely there is still enough time bite the bullet and make the unpleasant but common sense decisions to change the tactics and / or change the manager at least to show CCFC has some backbone.

We have been sleepwalking since September. While some fans still think we are playing great football and the manager has nothing to answer for, frankly we deserve all we get. If we had got rid of Thorn months ago when only the blind could fail to see he is not a manager in any sense of the word we may have had a slight chance of survival. Now we are doomed. In 12 months time if Thorn is still around we will still be playing great football, still be unlucky, still be scoring no goals, still losing every week and it will still not be his fault.

CCFC could show it has a backbone by having more than half a dozen fans show that they give a shit about the demise of the club.

We've been through this too many times. Anyone with a sense of perspective should realise by now that the problem lies a lot deeper than the current choice of manager.

It's time for all CCFC fans to show this 'backbone' by cutting the shit and dealing with the real issue here.

Er and what is the real issue. You seem to be talking about a long history of failure so it cannot be SISU. Frankly I don't care - I am fed up with someone employed as a manager who is not a manager in a million years. The current manager is part of the problem as he is just plain useless.

Think some who were wanting to keep AT are slowly coming around now that it is time for him to go.

If we do not change him then we are destined to go one way and that is down, whether you want to put this down to lack of squad depth etc etc, AT knew sisu were lying barstewards before he took the job on and sorry I do not feel sorry for him he is being paid for results and he is not producing them and nor is his team, he bought 2 goalkeepers and released 1 does not make sense,he selects the formation and the way he wants the team set out and so they get trained to play that way and it's not working and the players are not good enough to play a passing attacking game, they are not quick minded enough to counter attack.
They proved today that they can create chances but can not score, do they do shooting practice?
Do they train to any set principal anymore and yes I blame harrison as well as he has been here for ages now and under certain managers.
However Andy Blair was asked this last week about Harrison and he said he is excellent at training players.
All those who do not want AT to go why what harm can it really do? It could never be any worse than what it is at the moment surely.
It has been proved that we can not get out of this under AT it has not been proved that things could not change under a new manager.

Personaly i like AT but its time to change tactics,its clear the diamond isnt working in this league.As previously said, we simply dont have players
that are good enough to play that style of football in this league............period.

What brainless idiot would take this job? having both hands and legs tied behind your back? How could any manager worth his salt expose his reputation to the blackhole that is sisu? I would be suspicious of any bloke who would take it on, as having no pride or no amibition. Thorn knows this was the only chance he would get to be a manager, he would of taken the job even if they stipulated he would have to do it in drag,after he is put out of his misery he will sink without trace.

The club has had a defeatist attitude for years.

Winning starts at the top and runs through out the club - at CCFC it seems to be trying to seep up from the youth team.

Mismanagement of finances and dubious book-keeping has been the standard for years.

Macca I agree, we don't fight till the end any one and as I said in a previous post, we have a manager who doesn't provide any confidence or belief to his squad and that's why we loose football matchs!

Very true...but aren't we guilty of doing the same thing? Constant armchair comment here with talk of 'boycott' 'protest' but taking no real action. So nothing stands any chance of changing. No one person on this site is going to say that thing that's going to create a miracle and get anyone to listen. Ugh!!! this is just so incredibly frustrating, watching what's happening here and it makes me very sad.

The real answer is to get rid of Thorn and Sisu. Rather than start lots of threads about Thorn or Sisu let's focus on both of them. Keeping Thorn won't achieve anything we need to get a win from somewhere

How the hell can you really judge the man given the circumstances? The players aren't stupid. They know they haven't got a chance just as much as we know they haven't got a chance. There are only so many things a manager can say to try and lift spirits. Confidence is at an all time low and I'm afraid that is because of the state the club is in, not Andy Thorn.

The problem with that is the only player hes brought in he doesn't play, if he brought 7 or 8 Cody type players would you have been happy?

Because hopefully SISU will fuck off and then Hoffman's backers will want their own manager - so is there any point appointing a new one?

lets change manager, lets get in another "saviour, who may draw one and win one for their 1st 5 games", then after the initial excitment, form will dip and the true quality of the squad will shine through and we will go down...they will then be faced with a battle to maintain League One status next season...

Bigi and Thomas in midfield next season (IF we keep them both) will still be overran and bullied off the ball, and without wingers, it means we will lack any sort of midfield next season as well.

Its not all Thorns fault this, whilst I would like him to have a crack at wingbacks (what do we have to lose) with Christie and Hussey "bombing on", I dont think there is much else Thorn can do with a team that inished 18th last season, and lost its 4 best players (2 of which scored yesterday !)

Thorn showed signs last season that he could avoid defeat and get an average points haul with players we no longer have over a handful of games.

This season he has shown over a lot more games that he cannot avoid constant defeat and 24th place with the players we do have.

Regardless of the circumstances he's working in and the justified excuses he has, he's failing at his job. I find it mind-boggling when people suggest that other managers (I mean actual managers, not scouts in the right place at the right time) could do no better. At this point scoring two goals or getting the odd draw would be a vast improvement.

it hink it is clear that AT is out of his depth but again this is down to the people that put him in that position and et him up to fail. Again we are predictable, we do not have a plan B when it is not working and dont have the players to make an impact when needed. We lose Juke next month and reduce our chances of survival even further, the biggest question is whether we can keep the kids next year or not and build from them for a promotion push. I think our current owners will be cashing them in asap to keep our heads above water for another few months.

Yes macca it is, it's wrong to have ambition for your club, it's wrong to want a change to try and get this team out of the mess it's in.
As I said on a previous post get a new manager in on a short contract and if he does not succeed then he goes.
So what if our ex players scored yesterday, our's and everyones ex players are going to score goals or haveing brilliant games, I just don't get the our ex player following thing, it proves nothing.
How can anyone actually prove that a change of manager will not rejuvinate the squad and we will still get relegated anyway?
We have proof that under AT it is not working and we are the worse team in the division points wise not team wise although at the moment it does prove that, but to go down without wanting sisu to do everything in their powers to try and make us survive is their biggest crime here, and for AT to carry on with his self beleif he can get us out of this is a crime against the club and fans.
Sisu should get rid or AT needs to walk with his head held high that he tried his best but as someone put where else is he going to get a chance as manager? nowhere and he knows it.
So we just carry on because why?
Oh yes no-one else could do any better and AT is doing the best he can with what he's got.
Maybe his best is just not good enough and he is not fit to do the job that is being asked of him.

I was trying to say more on a personal level rich more than to the players/media it goes without doubt he has to say certain things in public.

You are right on 1 thing mate we are well and truly f****d if nothing changes somewhere very very soon.
We will all know in a month or so what our fate is to be that's for sure, would just like sisu if they are staying (let's hope not) to fing try to turn this shit season around and fing do something positive for once.

Personally this season is a write-off. I won't be paying much attention to results - even at the home games when i'll be there.

I'm just praying for a takeover so that we have something to look forward to next season. It's not going to be that bad being in League 1 - the Championship is hardly glamorous. I'd just love to be part of something exciting - like a League 1 promotion challenge.

Rich I totally agree about this season.

I am aiming my expectations a little lower than you though, as I am looking to be part of something very exciting, but dont know when it will happen, yes of coures i am talking about a win.

Yes I miss that distant nearly forgotten feeling of three points and a win, and am hoping we at least get one more before the season is out. :laugh:
