Yep, just think back to the comments when we were in pre-season! Quite a lot of people were expecting a relegation battle.
Expectations and the bar have been raised.
I think failure to secure promotion this season would be tough to take for many. Hence why so many people are getting annoyed we have dropped quite a few points in the last few games.
Catch 22 as this season is a complete turnaround from last.

yup and those same fans who said stuff like "no chance playoffs, maybe top 10" are now the first to moan at any dropped pts!!!!
*cough* stupot!
Hmm, maybe.I think many fit into that category to be fair. Not many would've foreseen such a transformation this season and no one had the foresight to say how good Armstrong would've turned out or how influential Ricketts or Vincelot would be. My last game last season was Crewe at home. I was certainly expecting a tough season and it's not a case of 'moaning' at dropped points. More disappointment. That's not a bad thing.
Games like Swindon away could be the difference between automatic promotion and the lottery of the play offs.
Hmm, maybe.
I don't get though all this Oldham, must win, Chesterfield, must win, Crewe, must win. The games we really need to win are against our rivals aren't they?
Burton and Walsall are the games we really need to be looking at winning. I don't mind at all if we draw at Crewe as long as we beat Walsall and Burton.
We need to be beating those teams around us as much as anything else and to be quite honest, these are the teams that will be looking to beat us too and probably less likely to throw 10 men behind the ball, giving us more space on the ball as a result.
I see no reason why we can't beat Burton and Walsall. At home we are very strong and unbeaten too.
Fantastic if we bag 3 points against Crewe on Saturday, but 1 point will be fine if we can get wins against Burton and Walsall.
Hmm, maybe.

Top teams expect to pick up points against inferior opposition - if they do not then they will not get promoted. Games against burton and Walsall are only top of the table games if we are beating lower end teams - as they are on a regular basis.
Ooh, too many ifs in there for my liking. I wasn't talking about losing to Crewe, I said a draw. Much rather we drew against Crewe and beat Walsall than the other way round.Don't get your logic there Otis. If we were to lose agains Crewe but beat Walsall and Burton, and Walsall win their 2 non Ccfc fixtures then we would be no nearer to them - we'd have all picked up 6 out of 9 points. We need to win as many games as possible, we need to be beating teams who are struggling as well as our rivals. I'm not panicking but we can't continue winning 1 in 6, and that means beating teams in the top, middle and bottom parts of the table.
Where we are is well beyond my wildest dreams and I am loving it, but We will never have a better chance of automatic promotion than this season's

No-one said anything about 'just beating the top teams.'FFS some sense for once☺
yes let's just beat the top teams we have done that many times before and still faced religation.
The games we really need to win are against our rivals aren't they? <snip>

The only team unbeaten at home out of all the divisions. Yes, I would say that is strong at home. No, 3 points is 3 points whoever we beat. If we beat a rival, we deny them any points which is a bonus.
Also, I don't think 'unbeaten' necessarily translates to 'very strong'. I certainly don't think our current form can be classified as 'very strong' even though we could be considered 'hard to beat', which is ok if you are satisfied with draws at home.
Just saying Crewe isn't a must win.
Well that's kind of my point. People say Oldham was a must win and then they said Chesterfield was a must win. Now they are saying Crewe is a must win.No game is a 'must win', provided you win every other game.
No-one said anything about 'just beating the top teams.'
Just saying Crewe isn't a must win. As I sated above, I would much prefer to draw against Crewe and beat Walsall, than to beat Crewe and draw against Walsall.
All I am saying is that Crewe isn't necessarily a must win. Burton and Walsall would be more important games to win and as I said to Stu, I am not talking about losing to Crewe.
We must not lose to Crewe. A draw would be fine if we pull off two wins straight after.
Perfect logic as far as I can see.
I think needing to win them all is an incredibly tall order. No we need to win them all, after all the top 2 have 4 points and a game in hand on us, and nether look like giving up their winning runs.
And it is still December. Burton and Walsall will deserve to go up if they can keep these runs going. I can't believe they will without a blip.I think needing to win them all is an incredibly tall order.
Adjustments need to be made for sure and reinforcements brought in. Fresh faces and fresh ideas and we may be able to start winning a lot more games again.A much better season than I had anticipated. But we are dropping points an 'auto promotion' team wouldn't. Having said that we have in the last couple games scored late goals to secure 3 and one point respectively. If we can get through January with winning our home games then things will look good

We have had a bit of a downward trend in our fortunes, but are still within touching distance and still have only lost 4 games all season.
If this is our blip I will grab it with both hands and embrace it!
A lovely run of 4 or 5 wins on the bounce would be fantastic. Not sure we are capable of that at the moment, but hopefully TM will strengthen in the January window and we will be a better side than we already are.Absolutely if this is a blip then all is rosy. Fingers crossed that the blip is over and we win all our remaining games. Well ok we win/draw enough for automatic promotion.
