Agreed, Jones will come good, as he has pace. I thought Robins made a mistake yesterday taking him off as his pace and direct running was forcing Charlton deep. After Jones was taken off Charlton got higher up the field and dominated possession.
Maybe it is just the fellow ginger in me seeing something that isn't there, but I still think with some work it is worth keeping in mind. With the bigger pitch at the Ricoh we can at least look to stretch teams wide, and tire out some of those top heavy defenders who will otherwise suss out a Jones or a Haynes.
I don't understand the dislike for Haynes. For me he's a decent player and one of the few who can carry the ball and beat players, something we haven't seen regularly for a long time.
I for one hope he'll sign a new contract and I reckon he'll be one of the better players in league 2 if he does.
