Thought of doing a poll on this but not sure it is a straight forward question

I thought some of it was positive - eg when talking about Pressley and the team for instance

Some of it left me a little undecided - like funding available to the club over next few years is it there or is it a bluff

But there was a whole lot of it that simply blocked off options and left me wondering where do we go from here. It relies on others rolling over and agreeing her terms. Not sure anyone can rely on that. It almost felt that our club was being held hostage to get what she wants (probably by all sides in truth)

Overall I think the effect is negative..... not sure that was the effect intended. I certainly do not feel reassured by the article

We all have different view points ..... what do you think?

by her saying she cant work with the council, two things are going to happen

1) we arent coming back to Ricoh
2) we arent coming back to coventry, its the coventry "area"

I think the effect was negative.

The closing off of any movement on the Ricoh was very disappointing. In the context of what she said, it actually made logical sense, but with both 'sides' seemingly polarised at opposite ends of the spectrum, it left me feeling particularly deflated at the thought of seeing the club in the right city any time soon.

I guess telling it as it is is better than false hope... but I'd kind of like some hope to cling to!

OSB how can you say sisu holding club hostage but not council? both clearly are but you are careful to put more emphasis on sisu, you get paid by the post?

might be because it was a statement made by Joy Seppala who heads up SISU that I was responding to?

Tend to agree the club has been held hostage by all sides to some degree.............. thats why i put "probably by all sides" in a post about SISU and Joy Seppala

Just leaves me thinking that the chance of the team returning to Coventry, or even the area, is becoming more remote. She knows nothing of football by her own admission, nor does she seem to care about the fans, so if it suits she will liquidate us, and not give it a second thought.

Oh come on positive. Didn't you feel the excitement Joy felt about the prospect of spending other people's money on a multifunctional Sporting Arena. Shops, hotels housing, so many options....bet she was the monopoly champion when she was at School. Plus the bonus of all those management fees for SISU.

Plus she is very religious...what more could we want?

OSB's response to the interview - as with his analysis of the pr game being played - is as ever, excellent. tbh I thought the way it was being built up she had an ace up her sleeve which nobody had spotted but my overall reaction to reading the interview was 'is that the best she can do?' I really expected something cleverer. Having read the interview a second time, and combined with her trip to ryton and the latest email about sixfields, it all seems a bit sad, even desperate. sixfields is unsustainable, nopm is starving sisu of revenue so losses are mounting and she has no real strategy so just repeats the same old BS which just defies any reality eg none of the councils neighbouring Coventry want a new football ground and the likelihood of gaining permission for sites mentioned so far is zero - also the small matter of the Freedom of Information application which showed sisu haven't had a single conversation with any local council about this. So feeling negative other than one option that does open up is offering sisu an honourable exit option

The statement was only made for the fans reassurance that SISU are doing whats best for the club,fans etc.

Yet it only assured me that SISU care only for themselves,after all Why would Joy want anything to do with a football club?
She cares as much for the fans of CCFC as I do the fans of Aston Villa.

Now, personally, there are some things I say that I certainly don't formalise, but I'd want to give the indication it's worth pursuing formally or not, at a later date.

It doesn't introduce certainty, and of course there's no evidence that informal chats have happened either... but it's not an absolute no either.

Exactly, there is absolutely no reason why any local authority would have to disclose the details of informal talks because of a FOIA request.

As I put on another thread - whilst there were some points that made sense - my take on the interview was that it appeared to confirm that we would be in Northampton for five years.

The result of that is that I have never felt more pessimistic or depressed about our future.

Look the reality is that the neighbouring authorities are partners of CCC. They'll be lucky to get planning permission from any of them, certainly no chance with Warwickshire County Council. If there was any chance of it happening formal steps would have happened by now. I'm sure they have had informal "chat"-and got told to get lost.

Confirms for me she did ruin the last gasp chance of a rental agreement and the reason was that the rent and f & b was a smokescreen.

Also confirms she wants the Ricoh as she is continuing with the costly unwinable legal action. Why bother if you don't want the Ricoh.

If SISU denied she made the comments at that meeting then that also confirms for me that they are liars.

So overall positive as I am now convinced she has moved the club to Northampton in order to buy the Ricoh.

Slightly negative that the way this has been done I can't see the council ever selling

Since when has the process of discussing a possible planning application involved the local authority telling the applicant to 'get lost'? They are not allowed to prejudice any application before it's submitted, only offer practical advice. We're not living in fucking Narnia. Given that the final decision doesn't really rest with the local authority anyway, I don't see how any of it matters. It's a nailed-on certainty to go to public enquiry.

Warwickshire CC do not have the authority to grant PP. The metropolitan borough councils do.

Some positive some negative......no real idea what will happen with the CCFC soap opera, although just wish we would come back home to Coventry.

The situation seems to change weekly, and frankly its getting tired and boring. I just want to concentrate on the football to be honest but it seems impossible with so many spoilt brats involved on all sides. All of them should hang their heads in shame.

Maybe this is the dawn of a new horizon.....probably not. It would have helped if as a goodwill gesture to the fans she had sacked Fisher.

The planning process for a new stadium, many people moved to the countryside to avoid the types that they believe go to football matches, so expect fierce resistance from them, also more affluent residents will put up a decent campaign. Add to the mix Cov fans in both Cov and Warwickshire throwing their disapproval behind it, local politicians, MPs, councillors etc.. won't support it, this will be dragged out as its only a small minority that will support it. Its just not feasible and SISU know it.

Not sure about that - Brandon Stadium was refused PP for a Sunday market by Rugby Borough Council. Not sure that's a metropolitan borough.

Ultimately, as said elsewhere, with developments as contentious as football grounds it's likely to go through a number of stages taking years. Shrewsbury, quoted in the JS interview as seemingly an 'easy' build, started the planning process in 1999. Build finished in 2007/8 as I recall.

Negative, btw, overwhelmingly negative, Unless her sudden arrival indicates that SISU are feeling the heat, I can't see that the two sides aren't further apart than ever.
