Just to be clear I have never been a SISU advocate or apologist ( I was warning about possible consequences in 2008 when they came in) but people have to ask the right questions and look at facts that are available. Should in my opinion be balanced
Not sure how much additional funding is expected. Seems to a consensus among some it wouldn't have taken much (certainly not millions). So I am going to play devils advocate here and say that SISU/ARVO did provide additional funding for the 2015/16 season
It states very clearly in the 31/05/2015 accounts that SISU & ARVO provided £780k in rolling finance after that date which had been paid down to £530k in February 2016. The note goes on to explain Maddison had been sold so I am assuming the pay down of 250k was from his sales proceeds otherwise link the two
That means on top of increased attendances SISU/ARVO provided 750K additional finance for the 2015/16 season. Now given that the club didn't have many players in June, July 2015, that we didn't actually buy anyone in, but that the major cost of CCFC is wages does that mean the owners actually backed a push for the Championship with significant funding by L1 standards?

Very interesting OSB. If correct, that'll shut a few up. A couple of questions though (I don't expect you to answer the 2nd one if you don't wish to):
* Is there anything else that the additional £750k might have been spent on? No one off costs or increased annual costs that might have accounted for where it went? I'm just trying to be clear if this additional money actually was made available to TM or whether it have actually been used elsewhere. wont know till the 31/05/16 accounts are out in Feb 2017
* If this is the case, does this add credence to the fact that TM might have under-delivered? He was backed for promotion but we're still in L1?! perhaps but there may be other reasons
* Sorry, a 3rd question has now come up. If the 2nd question is true (which I guess is based on opinion), then are they likely to do the same again for the new season? Its a rolling facility so in theory what has been repaid could be drawn down again
Thoughtfully,
WM
Is there anyway to see what that finance was for? How it was used? the 31/05/16 accounts when they come out in Feb 2017
Could any of it been for Jones or that deal?

Also, didn't we buy Vincelot last pre season? Could have been to do with him.
I've always had the utmost respect for you and the information you provide on this forum, and I'd never even for a second think or say you were a SISU apologist, but wouldn't you say this poster (chiefdave) is one?.....
chiefdave......

you are right nick I had forgotten that but as ever the fee was undisclosed but it wouldn't have been £750k surely.
Still means extra funds were available to the club whichever way you look at it.

No I think he would have been 100k at the very most.
I guess it doesn't say the date it was put in does it?
only that it was after 31/05/15 (so for this financial year) and £250k repaid before 2015 accounts signed off end of February 2016
That reminds me of somebody telling the teacher on somebody else.

Why don't you ask Grenduffy his thoughts? You never know, he might give an estimate somewhere between 100k and 750k....(Just for balance eh?)
and as OSB58 said, seriously doubt Vincelot cost any where near that figure. Seem to recollect a figure being bandied about of 100k-150k though I'm not stating that as a fact, I may be wrongPerhaps the 750k figure was to cover Cole and Turner's wage. Yet again I'm not saying this is fact, just putting it out there you know?
I was asking you what you thought of it, after you said they should put about 750k in...
It is completely different isn't it than trying to get somebody to say somebody else is a SISU apologist FFS.
Is it going to be another one of those days where you try to catch people out but just make yourself look silly?

Think you've already made yourself look silly mate
PS.... Doesn't the little triangle with exclamation mark"Bottom left of post" mean the same thing that you accuse me of?
Just a thought about the 750,000k , I don't know how much but Pressley and his backroomyou are right nick I had forgotten that but as ever the fee was undisclosed but it wouldn't have been £750k surely.

Good point!
Would have been about the right time-frame I reckon.Good point!
Was Swansons contract terminated, or was he sold/given to that Scottish club (can't remember what one he went to off hand)
Just a thought about the 750,000k , I don't know how much but Pressley and his backroom

is there a way of working out the player's wage bill from the accounts?
Also, like Brylowes says, pay offs, contract terminations etc?
unfortunately the accounts do not give that sort of information
I don't think we have a history of using clauses to our advantage do we, but you never know. What sort of area would the pay off be though?
For arguments sake, say SP was on 1.5K a week? And he had 3 1/2 years left on that contract IIRC, that's around £273,000, or would they settle at say a couple of months wages in one hit or...?
Hopefully the club had a clause about dropping into the relegation zone, which reduced the pay off significantly.

That would make absolutely no sense at all, so therefore is probably the truth. We probably owe Bournemouth money if Wilson gets sold on
Good point
Only thing I might add though is that often the settlement is staged. A lump sum with clean break is also discounted to some degree. Would depend on what was in the contract.
