No one really can know. We have new players we know nothing about. The gap in quality within the league I would guess could be fairly small.
Relegated teams often do not immediately return. We need a strong start.
How would you know any of them are better equipped? I doubt very much the players care about the owners if they're getting paid and enjoying their football. We need to get out of the blocks early and maintain it throughout. Winning becomes a habit as does losing as per DNA of the likes of Burge,Haynes,Willis et al which worries me.
Lots of people seem confident but I'm afraid I don't share the optimism, but hope I'm wrong.
Mansfield,Luton,Exeter,Port Vale, Swindon I think are better equipped so if we can sneak into the playoffs I guess everyone would take it.
Lets not forget who is in charge still-which again will be an unwelcome distraction.
Why do you think they are better equipped, management, players\budget or simply its CCFC and we could never be ready and able to tonk a league?Mansfield,Luton,Exeter,Port Vale, Swindon I think are better equipped
Top 8 is absolutely fine as long as it's not 8th.I reckon this time it's top 8- it has to happen sometime doesn't it? I think all we're badly lacking is a good backup striker behind McNulty and Beavon, and Robins has time to sort that.
Five or six past good teams would be even better!I want to see fast attacking football. Would love to be putting 5 or 6 past some of the shitter teams, Anything other then top 7 will be considered a failure. Should have a top 5 budget with ffp figures. If we don't do it this year I can see years of stagnation.
I'm not greedy. Two goals a game will do just fine.Five or six past good teams would be even better!
Ninety plus goals in a season would be nice.I'm not greedy. Two goals a game will do just fine.
We normally need time to gel as we have been bringing players in as the season starts. This season is different. They have worked together before the pre season games. They have played together during these games. We have signed a few very experienced players with a winning mentality. We have a few players that were previously captain. We have bite in midfield. And we will be against Division 4 opposition every week.Heart say promoted, head says top 10. We have never looked like being promoted after relegation and have pretty much changed 3/4 of the squad. No bad thing but they are going to need time to gel. It currently looks like we are short of goals but Robins looks like he wants more CH' s looking at the trialists.

We also know that Robins is a decent manager. This season is nothing like what we are used to. We are used to players meeting fir thw first time a few days before the first game of the season or later. Players running around like headless chickens. Soft players that get bullied out of games.
If we can bring in an experienced striker who scores lots of goals or have a player already who hits form we could end up thinking 2nd place as failure. But there is one thing for sure. Opposition supporters will look forward to coming to our ground. But for once they won't be expecting 3 points.
My prediction for the 2017/18 season is you steadily increasing the number of people on your blocked list, a continuation of you rarely even bothering to check the match threads and even more time spent in your artificially created echo chamber discussing the 1960s and which ex player has their 106th birthday on that particular day.Promotion ? Relegation ?? A good free flowing team on the pitch , playing with guile n' vigour ???
Personally , I suspect we'll see - An average start to the season . ie many draws , close 1 nil wins or losses either way , a mini winning run here n' there . as mid season approaches , we'll be doing okay-ish .maybe , top 11 . come February , I suspect we'll see a tail off to the season . possibly a 15th place finish , Robins will be gone by February , I also suspect this will be CCFC final year at the Ricoh whilst SISU remain . leaving CCFC to become lodgers at another ground . however , I do feel IF the club is not dissolved , by SISU and , new owners do arrive ... The owners of the Ricoh , will invite CCFC back ... Just my opinion . Good Luck to all CCFC fans everywhere for the season ahead PUSB.

Nailed it...I'm pretty optimistic for this coming season (then again I always am) but I reckon we'll go up this season. Autos would be nice but considering I missed out on the Checkatrade final I've written to Robins and requested a playoff final victory on a glorious sunny day next May. Not heard back yet.
