See, you taking the offensive but you've obviously read my post wrong! I'm not having a go at people who went Saturday but not last night, although they do deserve a rant! My rant was at people who wanted to go on Saturday but couldn't get tickets. We all care CVD. It’s just no one should be made to feel guilty for not going. Who do people think they are by insinuating that if you went Saturday, you should’ve gone last night. Fuck off! (That last bit not aimed at you!).
People have a right to go or not go. It’s up to them and no one should be singled out for not going. A dickish thing to do in my eyes.
I’m always honest...I pick and choose my games as I live a 5hr round trip away. I’d never moan about lack of cash into the club though as I know I could go to more games.
I chose not to for a number of reasons although I would like to go more.
Like I said (and again not aimed at you), no one should be pointed out for picking and choosing games by those who are ‘lucky’ to be able to go to all, including the cold winter Tuesday night games. Kudos to them but don’t rant at the likes of me. Not on.

He's not a Mr. Big anymore, he's now just a henchman and I easily beat him off to get to the big cheese.
I was in the Bahamas on a beautiful sandy beach at 12, making love to a stunning Swedish model at 2, killing Mr. Big at 3.15, waking up at 4.30 and at the Ricoh for around 7.
I'm exhausted.
I don't think anyone should be made to feel guilty for not going and I understand the myriad of reasons people don't.
But I also don't think that people shouldn't be made to feel guilty for being passionate or getting frustrated with the lack of support, (particularly just days a big FA cup turn out), on a CCFC fans forum but it happens far too often on here for my liking.
I personally wouldn't have posted what Patsy did but I can understand his frustration and if there is anywhere he should be able to vent that frustration it's on a Coventry City message board.

If we were given 11-12k tickets for Saturday, we'd most likely of sold them, we didn't so people missed out. I'm aiming at the people that were desperate to watch city on Saturday that couldn't, if you were that desperate you could of watched them last night!
You can argue people can't afford £20+ at the end of Jan to go to a game, however, if more MK Dons tickets had been made available, I'm sure the same people would of managed to find £20 for a ticket, £15 for the train and £40 for beers!

I fully understand that people work, live far away, are skint! Don't for a minute think I don't. I'm a ST holder and struggle to get to every game! I never have a go a fans that can't come, in fact for Me, the less fans the better as I can get to the bar with ease, no ques for loos, easy to get out the car park. That's the thing though CVD, there's a thin line between being passionate about wanting people to be there and not understanding reasons for people not being there.

the so called 5000 people were not on this forum - I recall possibly 1 or 2 people on here complaining they couldn't get tickets as "season ticket holders took them all"I'm not on about people not going to every game. FFS, I'm a season ticket holder and nor even I can get to every fucking game! I'm on about the 5000 people who reckon they were desperate to see the city at MK Dons but unfairly couldn't get tickets because of season ticket holder. They could of got tickets piss easy for last night, so why didn't they?

I'm not on FB, I'm on twitter and have also ranted on there. I'm inconspicuous on there though and one person repliedthe so called 5000 people were not on this forum - I recall possibly 1 or 2 people on here complaining they couldn't get tickets as "season ticket holders took them all"
You are preaching to the wrong crowd on here, the facebook forum is where you want to be pointing the finger
I'd also add that not only the cold, the less convenient Tuesday night rather than Saturday afternoon, the expectation when they can just go to another game soon (eg Accrington) and the price. For the casual fan £25 to watch L2 football is pretty ridiculous when you add in parking, programme, food and maybe even more than one family member, then it's not a cheap night out in the cold for potentially very little entertainment.
Yes he dodged the Bullet there .Nice deflection....when he said Sven, he meant the Swedish model you mentioned......
Have to agree, it’s weird for years as a STH I always used to get annoyed by ‘bandwagoners’ but last few years I realised I’m the ‘fool’ so many games I wouldn’t have gone to if it hadn’t been for my ST, this year I’ve been to a handful Home and away and I’ve enjoyed it far more having had a break and going when I want.
Massive credit to those that are still going up you are the hardcore, but digging out fans for not paying £20+ at the end in what feels like the the 3rd month of January is a shame. Be glad you’ve witnessed another win the biggest ‘losers’ are those of us that have sat through awful game, defeat after defeat but are missing out on win after win at home.
There's no two ways about it, the lack of an increase in attendance when the team are doing well is disappointing. Even the manager and various players have said so.
Of course there's always going to be people that can't go to every game but I suspect some of those who 'can't' go wouldn't have the same problem if it was Real Madrid in the Champions League rather than Cambridge in L2.
This touches on a good point.
Cambridge or Man Utd is more of a comparison.
It seems with our fans it needs to be a big team or a big competition.
Nothing wrong with that but they must realise they won't get the big teams without supporting.
I suspect, like me, that there appears no future with Sisu in control and that they are chucking there money at a wasted cause.
i was jokin...Or it's at the weekend when more people can go as they're not working weekends....
To be fair to you...that price drop has incentivised me for two reasons:
1. A ticket price of £5 compared to £23 doesn't sound a lot in the grand scheme of things. But I need to spend £30 on petrol to get to a game and back at the Ricoh. That's before I think about a beer in the casino before the match, programme, parking, half time refreshments etc. £35 for travel and ticket is much better (for me personally) than £53.
2. I feel like the club are finally listening to fans with the promotions. We've asked for discounted tickets to drive attendances up. If I therefore didn't go, I'd feel bad.
How is a team fighting for promotion and into the 5th round of the cup a lost cause?
Yep and of course many have genuine reasons why they couldn't come last night, but not everyone who stayed away will be because they had work, or it was too far, or they couldn't afford it, or were ill etc.Again, nobody is criticising those who live far away, Work, have family or other commitments. The criticism is aimed at those who’ve spent the last week in social media complaining at season ticket holder allocation for away games but then don’t turn up to games on their doorstep.

I'm a vegetarian, so it's a no from me, but my wife is a rabid carnivore, so I will text her now and see what she says.I hang my head in shame for not going (although stated why above). Although I didn't moan about not getting a ticket for MK I would have loved to have gone - could have caught up with an ex-colleague. However, I couldn't afford the Outlay. I wouldn't have been able to get the money if I wanted to - same for last night. The AS game might be a squeeze to afford as well with the parking costs etc. I did go to Wembley in the Check-a-trade final though - naughty me.
Anybody want to buy a kidney so I can afford to go to watch my beloved Coventry play a L2 game
i was jokin...
I could've predicted this childish thread from our self named superfans. I was up there last night (with my daughter - poor thing was freezing), but it was a cold Tuesday night in January and we're in L2 - what did you expect? I certainly expected to see a thread of faux outrage when I got home and listen to similar drivel on the CWR phone in on the way home.
This wont encourage them back. We've had periods of promise in the past, short unsustained periods and relatively little success - we're not even out of the woods after the transfer window yet and no real success to shout about. I respect the fantastic job our manager and players are doing, but we still have one of the highest attendances in the league and historically we have always got up in numbers for big occasions.
I know I'm wasting my time as this entire conversation will be repeated some times in the future. Accept that it happens, save your energy for supporting the team and welcome those on the edge when they do come. Who knows a less hostile welcome to the odd attendee might have them returning after years of disappointment and expecting more lows than highs.
I don't think it has anything to do with the day or the weather. If we were playing Man Utd on a cold, wet Tuesday night, we would sell out. It's nothing to do with "superfans" either, that is a childish remark.
Whilst I understand not everyone can do every game - although I have a ST I couldn't make it last night - it is annoying when you hear people complaining they can't get tickets for certain games, but then fail to turn up to the Ricoh. Are these people going to support the team or just going for the occasion?

MATCH.PACKAGES.This is it really. While people like me can give it the Billy Big Bollocks for roaming around the country getting pissed in all of these God-forsaken Northern hell-holes, there’s a lot of people who have to pick & choose their games and days out based on loads of factors including cost, competing commitments and if they can be actually be arsed to pay £25 to watch Cambridge United on a freezing January night when they can save £85* and watch Cambridge Uni on University Challenge on TV for free in the comfort of their own homes.
Up until a few years ago, I spent most of our failing Championship to Northampton seasons being very picky about matches because I’d got married and was renovating our home so money was tight.
Last night there was a bit of banter with mates as one has been to two matches this week after being a more casual fan recently but the guy has got married and had a kid so piss-taking aside, I’d be a very, very casual fan too in his situation. Why waste time/money on a potentially average (at best) experience when you can save it for the big one?
As Kev Monks – the person who’s probably the yardstick for Cov fandom – would say: true fans are the ones who commit as much as their circumstances allow.
Some of us want to go for the occasional, big day out, others want to grind our way around the country in some bizarre test of will, transport availability and liver function.
If you’re a Cov fan, you’re a Cov fan. That’s all you need really. We can’t be fussy about who is mad enough to support us can we?
* £85 last night made up of train fare (£25.50 + £12), taxi when the rail replacement bus didn’t show at Nunny Town (£16.50), beers and food (£15), season ticket (£16). Travel back from London included in my train season ticket. No programme, no kids in tow, no pie or bovril. Football, even in L2, is not cheap anymore.
