Counting season tickets even if they don't turn up I can understand as its a paid for ticket. Giving away 3K tickets to people who ran a race and have expressed no interest in attending a game and then adding them all to the attendance is a bit of a farce.That might explain it

Arsenal's stadium often had thousands of empty seats last season but they always said it was a full house as season tickets are counted whether they turn up or not
