Nothing is agreed until it signed though. I have had this happen to me many times where people have accepted verbal employment offers only to be offered more to stay with their current employer.

If we were offering 10k per week thats 520k per year
If brum offered 15k per week thats 780k per year

or to sum it up nicely for me and clear everything up over 1/4 of a million pounds extra per year.

Am surprised that everyone is so surprised by all this ..... does fit with his track record at other clubs let alone his moral fibre

Said when he signed that we were only a stepping stone to get back into football and he would either be off or sink without trace. He had a good season and took the benefits. He never had any loyalty to CCFC. He isnt wrong in looking after himself and family, it has nothing to do with loyalty, but a lot to do with honouring your word. Clearly no honour here

His story that he heard nothing, things were not sent just does not stack up. He was on holiday, he was entitled to some R&R with his wife and kids...... there was no rush there was no panic...... he had an offer on the table be it verbal. There was plenty of time to come back from holiday, see if it was real and make decisions. So why the rush to jump in with Birmingham?. He could have taken the whole of next week to see if CCFC were true to their word.......... training doesnt start till 1st July. He says there were other clubs interested..... of course there were...... but probably not as lucrative or attractive so he could turn them down.

I dont doubt the sincerity and truth in what AT and Dulieu said...... perhaps a little naiive but thats all. There was no rush to get a contract either to the agent or to King on holiday......... simple fact was that King went to Birmingham for a few dollars more and he was prepared to rub the noses of the CCFC fans in it to do so.

A few goals and the adoration of some do not change the man........ CCFC fans should not be surprised to find that King is every bit what he is portrayed as off the pitch..... to me a man untrustworthy, with few morals and certainly no honour.

King said that, KD asked for his email address but because this took a day too long he went birmingham, joke.

Bollox ...... Just an excuse. He needs to just get real here and admit he went back on his word FFS, be a man about it.

I MK am sorry that I uspet the Coventry fans with recent events. I was offered a deal and thought this was the best thing at the time and was comfortable with what was on the table. Whilst on holiday another offer came in which was much better than Coventry's and in the interests of my family I had to go back on my word. Had Coventry matched this offer then things might have been different but sadly this was not the case.

Fek me we all knew what was going on though....it as been in the press for a week even quoting salaries!

not saying this is the case but....... it suits the club to have the events in this order because they dont get the stick from the fans MK does. Makes the club look like they did loads to keep him and were let down by MK's change of mind. Apparently didnt say anything until the agent was going to go to the press so jumped in before him. Couldnt blame them after all the stick they have had in the past though

Trying to be dispassionate ......... I think there is truth in what all the parties have said and that in the middle of it lies the real truth, but we will never know.

Dont think a player with any love for the fans could think other than he has let those fans down big style. Doubt he has the balls to be honest about that or apologise.

my very last word on this....If he was a man of moral fiber I would be dissapointed however we have always known and never disputed that he was a thug and a villain so now he has shown little class or character in his dealings who can be shocked?? I love my club and they have always been and will always be bigger than any singular player or figure.

We had it with Regis, Speedie, Dublin, Hartson and now King.....time to move on and look forward to who replaces him.

He allegedly told one of our most profesional players last week that he should "be more of a lad, enjoy yourself, make the most of things" and implied that he should be less of a family man. The player concerned found it pretty embarrassing.

He was never particularly popular in the dressing room, and made his mark in his first few weeks with us for the way he went into challenges hard in training. Maybe other players will be better without him. Freddy can't be much worse

Clearly King is full of shit. I really pity his family as he has not considered them properly.
It's also clear he was offered a revised 3 year deal that made him say "yeah lets do it".

I only said yesterday the club would have to release the facts so we could make up our own minds. Well that is now the case and frankly I'm pleased that the disruptional influence that is King has gone and Thorn may in the end find it's a blessing in disguise.

I know it's a cop out but I really can't say. I wouldn't have nornally mentioned such stuff as I can't substantiate it and I don't want the person who tells me such tit-bits to stop doing so..but in the light of recent events I thought it was worth making an exception for.

Based on other thing's I've been told though, the dressing room should be a better place without King and McIndoe. There is a great bond and genuine team spirit between a core of our young players who are all still at the club and want to achieve great things together.
