lost my sound card and driver,is there a free download so i can hear music on the computer,driving me nuts!!! any help will be great

As said it really depends what sound card (motherboard if onboard) you have.

If you can post up what you have I am sure somebody will be able to help you out with drivers

sound driver

its a legacy audio driver 20962410601.cpx any help would be recieved with many thanks

Do you know the exact device name? Whether it is nVidia or something like that?

Is it a seperate card or built onto your motherboard?

if your on xp
click start then your see run

type in the run box dxdiag then ok

you should see your sound details

on vista
click start
then type in the start search the same dxdiag the ok

there could be a good chance it be realtek AC 97 drivers
