Having signed Marcus Tudgay and Shaun Miller, Pressley remains hopeful that he will have two more senior strikers on board when City kick off their League One season at Bradford next weekend.

The club are still pursuing a loan deal for Bournemouth’s Josh McQuoid and Pressley also wants a target man to give him more options.

“McQuoid’s more in the mould of Miller in his movement, speed and dribbling ability,” he explained, “so I’m looking for someone with more of a physical presence.”

He knows he can’t replace the electrifying pace that earned Callum Wilson so many goals last term but is hoping to balance that loss by improving in other areas.

“One of the things we need is more runs through from the midfield area beyond the strikers,” he said.

“We didn’t really have that sort of penetration last year but we saw if from Jim O’Brien a number of times against Watford – that’s one of his big strengths.”

However for me the solution to the above is simple use 5% of the Wilson money to sign that John Hartson look a like from Holland.

Keep Baker and play him in his favourite position like he dud at Stockport and tell him to run past the forwards into the box.

Can we afford to do this? I am not sure.....

Really don't see the point in McQuiod. By all accounts he's a bit shit after a short purple patch a couple of season ago.

Meanwhile we've got a couple of kids who according to those that have seen them are looking like prospects. Why not use them as our 4th striker instead?

Same with bringing in Coulibaly over some of the midfield talent we've got. I understand if it's someone who's going to be a regular and set the league alight, but why push out our kids for someone else's reserves?

fingers crossed.

Pressley has been chasing this target man since January. Whatever happens, its likely he wont be fit for the start of the season

Bit concerned that it sounds like we have given up any hope of having some pace in the side.
