Skysports.com understands Paolo Sousa is in the running for the vacant manager's job at Crystal Palace.
Palace are looking for a new manager after dispensing with the services of George Burley last week following the defeat at Millwall.Dougie Freedman is currently in caretaker charge of the side as the club draw up a shortlist of candidates for the job.
The likes of Steve Coppell and Chris Hughton have been linked with the role and it is understood former Swansea and Leicester chief Sousa has applied for the job.
Sousa has been out of work since leaving Leicester in October after less than three months in charge and he is keen to get back into management.
The Portuguese is thought to have been interviewed by Palace officials and the club are set to speak to other candidates before making an appointment.
