Just a day or two ago he was ready to sign some players "tomorrow"

as a club we are in a complete state of limbo until a definite way forward is agreed we are only going one way that is down. June10 cant come quick enough i worry that a outright verdict wont be reached and this hopeless position is set to continue

How would you feel if your Marshall or prutton. "We might want you, but something else may come along that's better, so we will wait a bit".
No surprise then if they potter off elsewhere.
Presley would be better keeping quiet about the strategy. If he just said "many people are on holiday after a long season" that would have been enough.
Yes Steven Pressley did say that but he also say that the Club would only do this if the right players are available..
That being said, if we are having to be patient because the Gaffer is aiming high with targets then that's better then signing any old Joe who may have been released from another League One side.

What like we did last season and had that disasterous start because we were playing "catch up".....hang on a minute!! [/COLOR]:thinking about:
We actually had a great start and no decent team really signs anyone till at least mid-June normally still any excuse for a moan!
Thing is though Robo is that SP was never going to sign any players "tomorrow" that was my issue. Why mislead us? It was a quick PR exercise on the ccfc website to promote season tickets when it wasn't needed.
We can all see no one will be signed until after the JR and even then it will just be cheap easy freebies as that's all we can get.
I agree with the above. Why don't they actually sign players like Prutton and Marshall now as it's done and dusted but it's a bit crap for them as we will sign better if they come along but also another club can take advantage and see Prutton is free and take him from us. Works both ways.
Boring bollocks. Really couldn't give a shit at the moment. It's all about the World Cup.
Most players contracts finish either end of May or end of June. No club wants to sign a player sooner because that means they have to pay their wages even they don't return for training until July. At the risk of being a complete fool I know we do have one player coming. SP is just saying 'I dont trust you media boys'.
Sky Blues manager not close to announcing new players any time soon
Steven Pressley is prepared to play a waiting game as he aims high with his targets for Coventry City this summer.
The Sky Blues boss admits he’s not close on a single deal so far but knows it’s early days with both players and clubs reluctant to commit themselves too soon as they jostle for the best deals available.
Pressley has identified a number of players who he’d like to strengthen his squad in several positions, and it’s clear that many of those are either already playing at a higher level or have the quality and ambition to perform in the Championship.
“I’ve been speaking to agents and we’re trying on a few but we’re not close on any just now,” he revealed.
“The problem is that a few of the players I would like would probably also like to play up a level.
“So what they do is wait and see and the gamble you take is you wait and then miss out on others. But I’m not close on anyone at the moment; not sat down and had a chat with any players.
“I’ve spoken to quite a number of agents but nothing has got to the next stage and saying ‘OK, let’s get together.”
The City manager has held early discussions with Mark Marshall, Joe Murphy and David Prutton, telling them that he’s interested in retaining their services next season.
But he knows that given his limited budget he has to shop cleverly in the close season to get the best value for the wages at his disposal.
Certainly where the midfielders are concerned, it’s likely that he has got a number of players in mind that may well be higher up his target list.
Goalkeeper Murphy, meanwhile, will almost certainly be offered reduced terms to stay at Coventry and will, therefore, want to assess his options elsewhere before committing himself to the club.
