STOCK CLEARANCE

Coventry City's City Central store is being utilised as a 'stock clearance' outlet ahead of the new season.

While we have had an excellent reaction to the new kit, there is still interest in stock from last season because of the dramatically reduced prices.

The City Central store will be utilised as a clearance store until the start of next season so fans can take advantage of the discounted prices when shopping in the City Centre.

Offers include the 2011/12 replica FA Cup shirt reduced from £39.99 to £29.99, the 2011/12 home shirt coming down from £34.99 to £10, the 2010/12 away shirt being reduced from £34.99 to £5, the kit towel from £19.99 to £5 and the 2011/12 training-wear is reduced by 50 per cent.

The store will open from 10am until 4pm from Monday to Saturday.

Turning a store closure and redundancies into a positive headline.

But this will make a huge saving - we've been losing £500,000 a month for years............;)

why dont they just say .. we still have 3 months rent to pay on the store so rather than it standing empty we are putting all the old crap in there before the creditors can repossess it ..

Agree with your sentiment, however any genuine creditors won't see a penny. That's why SISU have filed the ARVO debenture.

Offers include the 2011/12 player of the season Richard Keogh reduced from £1.2m to a giveaway £800,000, England U21 International Martin Cranie coming down from £1.5m to a bargain £500,000 (we need to cut our wage bill), Irish International James McPake reduced from £350,000 to an eye-watering £100,000, and the rest of the squad is reduced by 50 per cent.

The store will open from 10am until 4pm from Monday to Saturday.

God forbid, I want to be optimistic but all I've heard lately is stock clearance, redundancies, staff moving on to other clubs...........it really does read like a club about to close its doors. These latest issues on top of all the others of course.

And the problem with them selling off old stock cheap is? I appreciate this is a pretty radical step and that retail outlets have never tried anything so left field, but just wondered.

Maybe Torch if they had tried this radical step sooner they wouldn't have had to make the staff redundent. But carry on Torch it makes me sick how some people can still try to justify sisus actions.

I'm not trying to justify anything. The Club is skint, we are losing money, they want to sell the old stock off cheap. So what? That's not news. The original article didn't mention anything about staff redundancies - Otis did. What makes me sick is people trying to twist posts to suit themselves. Can't do much about that, I don't suppose.

They've always sold the previous seasons' stuff off cheap, it's just that now it's concentrated in a location they're not going to be using much longer. This wouldn't have saved on redundancies, league one is league one regardless.

Torchomatic...............Nobody purposefully puts a cynical and depressing slant on things , do you not think that almost everything coming out of CCFC and those SISU shits is not suspect at the moment. When you take the collective happenings it doesn't look good. Yes we have a sale every year but not one accompanied with such other very negative events.

I have always been a positive sort of person. My glass has always been half full, but now my glass is cracked and will be fookin empty soon

A person who thinks the glass is half full is not an optimist, not a positive attitude, can do type.
No, this is a person with low expectations, one who is too easily pleased!

Sorry but I have to work with people who spout bollocks about glasses and attitudes.

You've got to consider the liquid in the glass too. If it's three-week old vomit, there's really no measurement that can make that seem upbeat.
