sorry, I read the below as you not thinking we need one.,
I'd still want one more striker in as I don't think Kwame Thomas and Beavon will be the answer to our goal scoring problems. George Thomas is more likely to play on the right. James Collins from Crawley would be my choise but that's very unlikelyMy personal opinion stands by the fact that I believe that no more additions are needed because I'm perfectly happy with the quality we have now. K. Thomas, G. Thomas and Beavon have all shown quality this season. M. McNulty only serves to bolster that quality. Do we need a target man? I don't think its crucial. Would I want Robins to bring one in? I certainly wouldn't say no. But, I'm more concerned that we're currently lacking a midfield/defence.
If you look at Portsmouth's season this year, note that a striker over 5"11 did not get on the scoring board for the whole of last season. Target men aren't the be all and end all of a forward line. (Conor Chaplin was their highest scoring striker at 5"6).

Yes the usual Coventry kid link. It's better than being linked to Mcsheffrey every season! Would have to pay a hefty fee for him though so I can't see that one happeningHaven't we been linked to James Collins in every transfer window for the best part of about 4 years?
Would you really be bothered if Stevenson left? Not suited to league 2 in my opinion and wouldn't be fussed if we got rid of him to acquire someone with league 2 experience

Stevenson was anonymous for large parts of last season when he played and he struggled to get into the worst team in our history. I'm still not convinced on Bigirimana as he often gives the ball away from simple passes and he doesn't fill you with confidence when he's on the ballIm not too sure i buy the wholr you must be a thug to do well in leagur 2 thing
With doyle and maybe deegan as defensive mid it makes sense to have to have 2 ball playing centre mids and they dont come muxh better than stevenson and bigi in league 2 I think.

Will be interesting to see who signs on Monday. I have a feeling that whoever it is will be his 'marquee signing' due to the season ticket seats being extended till then.2 years left on his contract, 22 goals last season. Would jump at the chance to sign him but it would demand a six-figure sum like you said.

Though you could come back and say John Akinde, John Stead, Charlie Wyke, Andy Williams etcAgreed, which of these are thugs ?
The PFA League Two Team of the Year
Goalkeeper: Luke McCormick (Plymouth Argyle)
Defenders: Kelvin Mellor (Blackpool), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Enda Stevens (Portsmouth)
Midfielders: Nicky Adams (Carlisle United), Luke Berry (Cambridge United), James Coppinger (Doncaster Rovers), Graham Carey (Plymouth Argyle)
Forwards: Danny Hylton (Luton Town), John Marquis (Doncaster Rovers)
I agree that will happen but he was truly shocking before then. Will give him a chance this season if Robins goes with him but if we can replace him I would. It wouldn't however be top of my priority list.Stevenson was injured for a while and do you really expext a dinosaur like slade to play him?
Bigi was phenomenal last 10 games. A few missplaced passes are gonna happen when you try to mske things happen.

Last year it was Sordell so surely it can't get any worse than that!:emoji_fingers_crossed:Don't say 'marquee signing' otherwise you'll jinx it and we'll end up getting Reda Johnson back on a 5 year contract with an option of a further year in his favour!!!

Are you being serious?Sordell was our best striker last season. So good a team.in higher division took him off us.
Idiotic to paint him as a bad signing.

Did you see some of the chances he missed? It just shows how poor the team was that not one of them could score more goals until March. Scoring 7 goals is nothing to shout about. He didn't bring anything to the table when I watched him and appeared to be rather lazyHe was top scorer till what march?! And he left in january
Scored 7 goals from prodimanntly wide position.
In what way whatsoever was he a poor player for us in the 4 and half months he was out player?

And also resigned him (or at least offered a contract) for the coming season.Doesnt change fact he was 1 of our best players last year being top scorer and a championship club took him.
From august to december thats not something that leads you to think he was a poor signing.
A championship team took him and he's scored 4 in 19. Being top scorer in the worst City side ever is not an achievementDoesnt change fact he was 1 of our best players last year being top scorer and a championship club took him.

Beavon (who we swapped Sordell for) scored 2 in 24 this season league games this season, that an achievement ?
Beavon contributed far more than sordell in my opinion
Imagine what sordell would have done if we played him in his actual position !
Sordell will be at least one league higher than Beavon next season, but likely to be two
2 in 24 league games this season for Beavon, how many do you reckon he would score if given the whole of next season up front with McNulty or K Thomas ?
Less than 10 I would imagine but we know goals aren't really the best part of his game. Burton fans told us that. Unfortunately he's a bit old and lacked fitness for a lot of last year. Alongside a poacher like mcnulty he could be effective
could
Sordell would have scored at least 15 in this division if played up top, and that's being very conservative
I disagree he's never got above 4 league goals in league one and league two isn't that much easier
Good signings so far, agree that a GK is needed next. I imagine after that it'll be waiting for people to resign or not. I think even if we keep everyone we've offered a contract to we would still need a CB and a winger though.
