Stand up if you've never watched Wasps (1 Viewer)

For all that I'm clear all the blame for our plight falls at the door of CCFC owners past and present, I'm also never going to watch Wasps. The only time I saw them play was in the Premiership final in 2008, long before the current fiasco kicked off when I got a freebie Twickenham ticket, which hardly counts as "supporting them".

No never watched them been offered loads of freebies but always turn them down it's a game for women and kids to watch and people who get excited by flags and fireworks

Why is it never enough for some people just to like something, such as watching the Sky Blues? Why the need to make a point of disliking something else and belittling the people that follow that sport?

I like football and rugby and cricket and other sports. I'll be watching the Six Nations in the NY. Sorry if that means that somehow some people think that means I don't really like football.

Don't mind rugby. It's just Wasps.

Saw them play a few years before they moved here. Does that count?

Yeah I agree with that, I love a whole host of sports and have spent plenty of dosh supporting all the Coventry teams !

Some city fans are pathetic towards Wasps. The blame of our current plight lies with Richardson, Robinson and more over SISU. Had a season ticket with city for 25 years before Northampton, haven’t and won’t be back until SISU have gone, as much as it hurts.

Had a season ticket with wasps since they came, they run a club property, treat the fans right and it’s top class rugby on the door step.

I hate what’s happened to city but it’s not wasps fault.

Thing is Northern there are quite a few like that some also going to Cov. They are not in the main people who all of a sudden switched from football to rugby but who had some interest in rugby in the first place.
It was, tbf, the 'treat the fans right' comment I found most amusing.

Nowt like uprooting a club and moving it around all over the place to treat 'em right, eh?

Am looking forward to our Telford trecks already!

Fortunately it's trying too hard to get me angry. Merry Christmas!

I think oucho is a bit sensitive but have to applaud that catch.

He's taking home a salmon for Christmas tea.

So if sisu went tomorrow would you get a season ticket and then not renew the wasps one?

Call it a long term bite. Sitting back reading posts over the last 2 years.

The treat the fans right relates to me and how they treat me.

Boths clubs can coexist in the right environment and can only be good for the city.

I go up and watch Cov rugby too. According to all the negativity wasps coming was going to be the death of Cov rugby.......

Regularly offered free tickets but you’d have to pay me to attend! All Wasps need swatting, the Ricoh wasn’t built for a franchise from down south, it was built for CCFC and know one’s every explained how it can be right for them to be playing in Coventry when the City already has a rugger club and if I was a rugby supporter I’d be supporting them. If it wasn’t right for the Sky Blues to play in Northampton, even temporarily, how can it be right for a London outfit to play in Coventry?

It's a good way to show your anger about the club being moved to Northampton, that's for sure.

It wasn’t right. But the club would have gone bust at Adams park. Most wasps fans understood that fact and a huge amount still travel. This wasn’t the case for city. They went to Northampton because of the inept owners.

Don’t for one minute think it’s not hard boycotting the club my dad to me to on his shoulders and lifted me over the turn styles over 30 years ago. I should be doing the same with my son now.

My dad did as well, he would probably be a bit ashamed if I sacked them off to go and support a rugby team moved up here to show unhappiness about us moving. :(

There's no shame in still carrying that on and going to watch ccfc.

For all people like Ashdown etc I disagree with, they at least have a bit of consistency.

If my daughter ever asks about rugby, it will only be cov rugby regardless of how many they are winning or what league they are in.

For all the bickering on here, this thread is probably going to unite more city fans then thought.

They wouldn’t have gone bust but hey if that eases your conscience fair enough.

He is in the same boat and abstains. We get our fix at away games.

There is no shame but I will not directly give them a penny of my money.

I didn’t ditch them to watch the rugby. Both are completely different. I would have done they same had city owned the ground and took wasps as Tennant’s.
