This is why we're not going. Never been intimidated enough not to go anywhere myself in years, but my daughter travels all over with me now and no way am I risking her there. I know its only a few idiots but they seem to think some of our idiots were indiscriminate last year and that means even families are fair game this year. Very sad. 99% chance we'd actually be ok, but wouldn't forgive myself if I put her in danger.
fuck me there's some bullshit on that thread.
The best bit is the Derby supporter, going on a thread about Coventry on a Sunderland message board to say we are insignificant.

It's a 3rd division away game against Sunderland. Hardly galatasaray v fenerbahce. Why this game with it's made up rivalry gets bigged up I'll never know.
No I wasnt but I've been going to away games since the early 80s to know this 'rivalry' is nonsense.Maybe you weren’t there last season then?

People need to man up. Its football not tennis.
We played them 3 times in the 70s... We won, Lost and Drew. The annoying thing is on here you’ve got pretty much universal condemnation with a few jokes about their exaggerating thrown in. On there they seem to relish the idea that there’s going to be trouble.
Someone now going on saying we hate them because they always did us over in the 70s. I’ve never heard that once from any of our fans. Sunderland aren’t special for beating us, everyone does that.
Well if it is the same positioning as it was last season (i.e. away fans in the tier above the home fans), then the matchday safety team (including police) clearly have NOT reviewed their risk assessment effectively. It's a shit arrangement asking for trouble from whoever goes there with a few wannabes!Completely understand that.
There is a fair chance they will be looking for it tomorrow and I doubt many of our lot will travel this time so like you said, anybody will probably be fair game. I’m sure the police will have a very tight handle on this.....

If anyone got injured, they would have a justifiable case to sue SAFC.

Not being any help but I’d like to know this too.Travelling up with my mate today, does anyone know of any pubs that are going to be only Cov or advertise for away fans.

I now need to know the goal difference. We played them 3 times in the 70s... We won, Lost and Drew.
Knowing Sunderland's exaggeration, there's a slight trickle of rain and a mild gust of windMonsoon like weather due in the North East around 3pm - Hopefully will not affect the game
Harbour view was decent last year... about a mile from the ground.... good selection of ales and Sky sports etc.Not being any help but I’d like to know this too.
