A return home to the RICOH gives them a viable income.

That is what sisu are doing to our fan base--destroying it just like they are destroying to our club.
The unbelievable thing is that misguided people still support sisu and therefore agree with the destruction. SAD.

What a stupid thing to say! Those going to Sixfields ARE supporting Sisu. They are supporting the move out of Coventry and justifying Sisu's action of removing the team.

I think SISU are snookered. Leon wants out - and they are unlikely to be able to get much in way of replacements due to embargo. Options: lower league prolific player, who might strike lucky, Premier club fringe/academy player who we can guarantee a game to (Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea etc)That's where the likes of e.g. Patrick Bamford have come from and is my preferred option. Just hope this doesn't trigger a meltdown for SP. We could really hit sh*t creek if we're not careful and we are facing what we all feared earlier this season with the size of the squad, and it's good form i.e. the 'perfect storm' of the january window sales and injury in relation to our best players. Keep the faith ;)

Probably safe this season.. a new striker force will be recruited, just not as effective.

What however is an issue for SISU is that the asset base they have to play with will diminish if they can't hang onto the best players because FFP means they can't pay as much as their competitors.

I think SISUE know once Leon goes, then goes our chances of the play offs due to the financial mess that they have created the club will be restricted as to the quality of the replacement. Sixfield crowds increased due to the expectation of good football, if our season starts to tail off there could be some quite small home crowds. Seabourne will be a good signing but getting a quality proven forward is going to be a lot more difficult. 1 win out of the last 6 home games is relegation form.

I have said earlier that this fan deserved shooting down as it was a bad thing to say but we could rely on you to be there to do it but this poster aside what is your contribution to this site is it ever to venture an opinion on SISUE or the football league, no its to wind up other fans, again fellow fans who are fustrated at the situation that find their club in but all you contribute is to pick holes, demonstrate inconsistencies etc... in arguments rather than contribute some original thought. You come across as anti ACL/CCC because that is the opposite to the majority on this board, if the majority were to turn pro - SISUE I'm sure you would then start openly criticising them. That's just my opinion, I'm sure you've got one.

Ronald is only middle management at best, probably closure to the canteen manager that makes you feel better by lending a sympathetic ear while you bitch about your real boss then goes back and tells them what you said. So yes previous quote still stands most workers hate their bosses or senior management.

This debate goes too and fro, but I have to agree, whilst it was never likely, had all the support stayed away, I do feel that we would be back at the Ricoh now. I know there is little finance coming in from the 2,000 that are there, but at least it is a fan base, if SISU had no one, it would have been better publicised and been a far greater story.

It's not really about Finance. Although tat is a bi product.

If no Coventry fan attended Sixfields but still attended away days. That would have made a huge statement about how wrong and unnecessary the move was.

I think if the fans believed it was the only option and was for the benefit of the club you would have at least 6000 there, I think.

It is a shame that not a single Coventry fan goes, but it would be unrealistic to expect it.

2000 out of a potential 20-30k fan base is still a good statement. However SISU can hide behind that it is 2000 due to the location as oppose to people believing the move was not necessary.

No it doesn't. It would give Council/ACL viable income, but not CCFC. Want nothing more than Ricoh return, but a club needs to own its own stadium, not be fleeced. Therefore sadly, from a business sense returning to the Ricoh makes no sense, other than for us fans. Fans who get frustrated at poor results as best players forcibly sold to pay the rent, who are almost waiting for players to make mistakes to boo, making the Ricoh a millstone for the players, but a lovely day out for the opposition. If CCFC owned Ricoh, it would be a wonderful home, but the beautiful stadium it is, I think I can count on one hand the happy occasions there. After that first season it just became a miserable place to go, footballing wise.

The SISU management fees cost more than the rent.
A return would certainly be more financially viable.
Our fan base and tickets sales would increase by at least 5 fold.
We are in a great position to negotiate a fantastic rent.

Certainly agree the way SISU managed the club is vastly responsible. Employing idiots like Ken Delieu, Leon Brody, Inge Ongwe to name but a few, is beyond a joke. The manager roundabouts as well, aren't we still paying Coleman and some others? Coleman is a culprit, with the players & money he had, the performances & league finishes were a disgrace.

Could you explain please what benefit our club would get from owning the ACL revenues and the freehold as opposed to just the ACL revenues?

If SISUE had the freehold they could mortgage it up to the hilt. That way they could get their money back. Can't think of anything else though.

I don't think it will be mortgaged in the sense we would individualy mortgage a house. The principle will be the same but ccfc will potentialy be ripped off big style.

The money for the ricoh will be supplied by the Arvo fund and ccfc will pay interest on this value. Ccfc will also pay Sisu/Otium management fees.
Because its in house dealing they can set interest and management fees at whatever they like. It will also be more than what ccfc can afford which doesn't matter because it will just increase the debt which can be drawn on whenever and if not can be claimed back against tax. Also it gives the fund an asset. This debt also protects their investment from takeover as we have seen through the latest administration episode.
My view is if they get their hands on the Ricoh we will never get rid of them. They will bleed the club dry for decades !!!

To be honest wishing people to be involved in a car crash is a little sadder. You don't put that even as a joke. Shown yourself for what you are.
