What is it that our supporters see , to make them chant his name and rejoice in a 4 year deal .
to make note andy thorn widely regarded as our worst manager in modern history if not ever (i agree) , won 7 games in his last 29 in charge in the league at coventry , with a very poor team absolutely full of inexperience .
steven pressley has won 9 from the last 37 , with arguably more freedom in the market and also in a lower division.
is it because we moved to sixfields that has given pressley a free pass to underachieve , seems that way

Agree 100%
to me he come across as a bully, shouting at players to get a reaction.
if they don't perform they are ostrisised, he doesn't manage them he just bomb squads them out.
right now he has a big squad that he has put together so no excuses.

he talks about ccfc being in years of decline and he is continuing the trend as we slide down the 3rd division.

steve Waggott got so excited about the Ricoh return and the wave of goodwill to give another 4 years. No justification for this and if he doesn't rectify this soon yet another season will be lost and potentially our league one status.

Lets squash the he has nothing to work with attitude by our supporters too , we have a bigger wage budget than preston , they also bought in 6 players , all free barring 1 of a couple hundred thousand , even joe garner was a free and is arguably the leagues best striker , im sorry but pressley has bought in 31 players on free and loan altogether , can somebody please tell me what they see in pressley ....im baffled

when you are playing in league one 35 miles from home in front of 1500 fans you are'nt going to attract many good players. this is why the turnover of players as been so high. you have to take freebies and fringe players in to have a good luck at them. i bet he hasnt cost us that much money during this process.

ok so it was a given that we would always stay up then despite losing his preferred strike force for a big chunk of the season and being one of the bookies faves to go down. i think your dislike of pressley is blinkering your view of how well he performed last season

Im sorry but manchester united could play on the memorial park and still attract top players , its the wage at the end of the day , and regardless where we play ...a footballer is paid to play and help achieve results whilst goving 100% .
and in our first season in league 1 at the ricoh , we were hardly great either

How many players did Preston lose over the summer? What I'm asking is did they build on last season's team or did they what we did, replreplace outgoing players. How does their squad size compare to ours?

brighton is a poor comparison. they were playing in there home ground not ground sharing miles away from their pupose built arena. they also recieved some heavy investment

I really can't make my mind up if he's a good manager or not. did well last season before the exodus of our 'star' players. he's doing okay-ish with the players he has at his disposal this season. however, the five games I've seen thus far,have been very,very,very, boring at best. reminds me of colmans reign.

I'm mot liking him at this very moment for sure, but he has been very good at bringing kids through and giving them a chance, which is something many of our previous managers have been reluctant to do and he is willing to change.

Last season we were shipping in goals and giving goals away late in games and this season he has solidified the defence and given us a bit more strength there. You can't blame him for us losing our top goalscorer, so he has my sympathy on that one, but he does need the players he has brought in this season to come good, or the pressure will be on him for sure.

Yesterday was abysmal and I was not at all enamoured with him for not changing things much earlier in the game. We looked certain losers from the off and well before half time he should have tweaked the system.

I'm certainly not going to get on his back too much just yet though. This is still a newish squad and some of the new players might yet come good.

Swanson and Tudgay for instance. Having watched them in the games I've seen so far, I would have rated them as Sunday football standard and nowt else. I have seen Tudgay play before though for other clubs and thought he has always looked half decent. What I've seen out there this season, it's like a different player.

It's very easy to overreact after 3 straight defeats. I now want to see what he comes up with next week to turn the tide and how he alters things.

His transfer market history?
His tactical ability?
His nice new (I watched the world cup) system?

The fact he does have a plan and a vision, and he sees the long game as much as the short one in terms of the need to build a club, not just a team.

It's easy to look at first team performances and judge solely on that, but often it's the legacy left for the managers that follow that's more important - take Newcastle for example, Keegan did well with results but binned the reserve team so there was no easy [path through to the first team for younger players (benefited us as we got Huckerby on the back of that) so after he left, the following managers were running uphill.

We've had similar, focussing on the first team beyond all else, and arguably neglecting a whole generation of players, the likes of Quinn, Betts, Fowler, Thornton as a result. Sure they had issues, but our club culture didn;t help, and that's something only McAllister ever tried to sort out (unsuccessfully).

So ultimately, the manager will be judged on results but they're not the be-all and end-all. We'd have also been in a better position long term, I reckon, had Adams not played Wise in a bunch of meaningless end of season games, but instead used those games to tune the side for the following season.

Problem is, circumstances have meant we haven't been able to try and build while Pressley's been here - Northampton handicapped that. So we've had a bunch of loanees and short term contracts as that's the cards we've been dealt. We need to move away from that, so having a manager who's prepared to0 give chances to the likes of Willis, Haynes, Finch etc. is exactly what we need. Rome wasn't built in a day an' all that.
