I think he's been outstanding when you consider he's still only 22 and this is his first season in England and his first experience of the championship.Actually yeah tbf I’d forgotten about that one excellent long pass out under pressure in the first half
My overall view on Dovin is that he’s not quite the messiah that everyone seems to think he is but he’s still been a very good signing (despite my indifference towards keepers in general)
Agreed, and worryingly we are back to conceding 2 goals per game again!Neither Simms nor Wright had anything going on up front today. Seems to be a recurring theme with this formation.
Goal aside, a big moment I know, Thomas was poor today. His decision making and distribution were miles off it. Frank was going ballistic on the Touchline at him.
Not sure Simms had a ball to him all game that he could reasonably be expected to work with
He just seemed a bit lower than normal for me today,a bit in doldrums, not showing quite the aggression and desire but that's probably just me as I really expect him to do well.Been like that the last few games, but he's still making an impact and leading the line well
Simms played really well, totally isolated with wide wingers. He harried the defenders and made space for others.Van Ewijk and Sakamoto both brilliant
Torp and Grimes also good.
Simms looked ineffective but I thought it was noticeable when he was off the pitch. Didn't stick as much up front
It's not being critical of him to say he didn't seem on it today I don't think he may have done all that and he is loved by me, I didn't see the hunger today,I must be Uber critical of him could be many reasons for that.Simms played really well, totally isolated with wide wingers. He harried the defenders and made space for others.
No idea what people expect him to do without someone beside him.
Well his man got in front and scored their 1st goal and he gave away the free kick for their 2nd so I am afraid he wasn't excellentThought DaSilva was excellent
I've mentioned already but watch their first goal, it reminded me of that goal we conceded at home to Oxford where he just didn't anticipate danger and plodded backHow would you actually be able uk rate Torp. Without the goals he was treading water after 15 minutes, didn’t track back and generally off the ball was poor. Yet scored two great goals.

If Lati had passed to Haji near the end instead of putting over a seriously shit cross when he broke free near the end, there may have been a different observation.Neither Simms nor Wright had anything going on up front today. Seems to be a recurring theme with this formation.
Was there when both their goals were scored. The first, their player turned inside him. Second he was behind his marker (even if it was offside).Thought Kitching was an absolute warrior today. Won the physical battle time and again and made some really important clearances.

we just need to back our players with 10 cup finals left - end of.Glad to see some people are able to admit that JDS had a good game today. So much 'that midget cost us again' bullshit on the match thread. The foul he gave away seemed soft and they seemed offside when they scored. Other than that I saw little wrong with his game
Simms had 12 touches all game [66 minutes ] and had a 40% pass completion rate and you've rated him 8 ?Dovin 8 - made some great saves, however towards the end his distribution went out the window.
van Ewijk 8.5 - Excellent covering work and last ditch tackles, bombed forward well, just hope he’s not out for too long.
Thomas 7.5 - gets a boost because of his goal, was generally not great today, ran it in to danger and lost it in silly positions and long balls werent that great, however tackling and aerially really good and a cracking finish.
Kitching 7.5 - Had a good game, captained us well and was ever-vocal passed the ball well and battled well
Dasilva 7.5 - Didnt give up kept fighting and worked hard, didnt bomb forward like Bidwell but attempted to get up and made good use of the ball.
Grimes 7.5 - Worked hard, some great passes, broke up the play well but some dodgy bits in there today certainly not his best performance in Sky Blue but still a good one.
Eccles 7.5 - Great display, box to box some good passes and shots.
Torp 9.5 - Complete Midfielder display, was so so so good today and the clear difference maker.
Sakamoto 8.5 - Back to his old self, workhorse and was quality on the ball great crosses into the box.
Simms 8 - Seems to be good enough to earn a spot without scoring works really hard and when the whole team is scoring his lack of goals doesnt actually prove an issue.
Mason-Clarke 7.5 - Couldnt get on the ball much but when he did looked class and beat his man a couple times but also lost to his man a couple times, hopefully not too bad an injury
It's such a shame long held opinions on players stop some on here supporting them and also rating them accordinglywe just need to back our players with 10 cup finals left - end of.
Giving him defensive responsibilities just isn’t a good ideaI've mentioned already but watch their first goal, it reminded me of that goal we conceded at home to Oxford where he just didn't anticipate danger and plodded back
off the ball work, didnt stop working (like I said in my reasonings) He battled really well against a physical backline and dragged his markers (often more than 1) such as in the 3rd goal he pulled 2 players away from BobbySimms had 12 touches all game [66 minutes ] and had a 40% pass completion rate and you've rated him 8 ?
While we're at it don't forget that corner he conceded, which could have led to an equaliser.Well his man got in front and scored their 1st goal and he gave away the free kick for their 2nd so I am afraid he wasn't excellent

Look I don't rate Dasilva I think thats blatantly obvious, Asante lost the ball further up the pitch for their first goal and Dasilva let a player run past him and really made no attempt to cover that player and also gave away a soft free kick for the 2nd, at least he attempted to stop a player that time, although as pointed out the linesman who gave the first goal they scored onside which was debatable and gave the free kick gave Stoke a bigger hand up than Dasilva but its not coincidence that nearly everytime he plays, and yes he does do some things well at times, he usually gives a goal or 2 away, Its also not a coincidence that opposition players and managers target him. If he has a good game I am big enough to acknowledge it but usually he is doing ok then costs us...rant over I am sure it isn't his fault and he isn't obviously doing it on purpose but unfortunately it is a regular occurence and we obviously need betterWhile we're at it don't forget that corner he conceded, which could have led to an equaliser.
Jokes aside that foul that led to the free kick was a combination a very soft tussle and a haphazard linesman.
I was able to see this on Tele. Most things have been said but I would say
1. Whether we like it or not we have started conceding two goals a game again (against pretty lowly opposition) even though none of the back four had a poor game. They may be good, but maybe not good enough - MVE excepted
2. We lost shape almost as soon as EMC went off. And EMC, like Tats but not like BTA, does not easily give the ball away.
3. Going 3-0 with a penalty would have totally changed the game's dynamic
4. Simms was given appalling service yet continued slogging away chasing. Rather like the defence, even though players were individually good as a unit, the midfield did not deliver opportunities for the striker. They missed Rudoni's bit of magic and were just a tad pedestrian
5. Lampard has really got Tats back to his best form. He is no longer hugging the line and merely passing the ball back to MVE. Makes a huge difference.
