sheff's injury record is still a huge concern but at this level I think he can do a good job behind the main striker. The only problem with playing sheff there is leaves a vacancy out wide where super David bell might have to play. Bell more games than Jeffers but probably even less impact.
Why are we still discussing Jeffers FFS....everyone seems to be ignoring that Sheff's favourite position is striker......therefore with our current style of play McSheff and McDonald up front as first choice strike pariing.......simples!
If he is a striker why have all the managers he has played for never considered him as such? They can't all be wrong. He's not that instinctive a finisher. A lot of his goals are long range.

Don't worry about the replies you will get. I got shouted down for saying the same a few weeks ago. I can't see us bringing in a better striker than Sheffers. Will we even bring in another striker?
One question from me. Where did Sheffers come in getting goals for our club considering he was not played as a striker? Yes you can say he took a few pens, but he will always score more than players like Platt.

The goals he scores are from the left cutting in. A striker spends a fair proportion of a game with his back to goal and needs to be strong and hold up play - these are not qualities he possesses in abundance.
Sheffers could do a job up front but like other have said he has not played up front bar the odd appearance since 2004/05 season. He's peak year under Adams (2005/06) he played wide left, and has played wide left ever since.
Again I'm not bigging up Jeffers but you have to remember he has only just turned 20, and was only 18 when he went on loan to cheltenham and Cambridge. He's a year younger than nimely who only went out on loan for the first time last season, which in age is the equivalent of Jeffers going out on loan next season.

As I've said before haven't seen enough of Jeffers to properly judge but equally how can those who are supporting him believe that he can be relied on to score the goals, he is older than Nuddy, Livingstone, Keane - strikers who made their debuts as teenagers. A spell in the lower leagues he had zero impact but come august he will be banging them in for cov based on hope rather than reality.
I will give all our youth players a chance but I struggle with the assumption that he is any good as there is little evidence to support that.
i think weve dropped a big bollock by releasing clarke-harris , who i believe has signed for peterboro , i feel he would have been ready to make an impact in this division
