Do you think Barca had a Messi back up? Or PSG had a Mbappe back up? Or City of the early 90’s had a David Rennie back up? Your view of the game is a bit bizarre. Presumably it’s an easy fix. We just need 33 world class players.Yeah and? I literally said I’m not against the idea of using loans or free agents.
We need more depth and, if possible, quality. If Sheaf or MVE gets injured then we’re going to struggle to match their abilities in those positions, let alone if Simms or Haji gets injured, we’ll have no real quality second striker for rotation then.
Who has advocated spending zero ? Still waiting for the answer to that one. I've never stated that we didn't have some funds and nobody has a clue what these funds total. The type of players you were on about previously were unaffordable and up to £11M is unaffordable unless some mystery funds have materialised.

We dont need any extra players
Tatsu was 1.2m, Torp was 2m, Bobby was 2m, Lati was free (250k compensation), Dovin was around 2m, Binks was around 1.7m. You can get some bargains just have to trust in the recruitment teamYou basically said that my idea of buying 3 players for around £8 mil is unaffordable, so I’m wondering how much you think we should spend on each player to get the quality we need? That’s why I said £0 because I believe that £2-3 mil on a player at championship level isn’t much at all, I was being tongue in cheek about it, I can’t see how we’re going to purchase quality for under £2 mil. I’m also not against using loans or free agents if they’re good enough.
You seem to keep getting het up about very minor things in my arguments. I think we need some depth in ST, CM, RB and CB, who we go for or how we go about it is up to the management, but getting players in is the crux of the argument.
Yeah Im just having a laugh dont worryWhat that’s it? We’re bang on perfect as it is?
You’ve got to be having me on here, although I’m not used to your humour so I can’t tell

That's batshit. Bobby Thomas in particular is a bloody brilliant piece of business.Lati I can’t say has been an amazing signing, we probably need better going forward, and Binks is only a shade under £2 mil. The rest all prove my point that it’s hard to get quality under £2 mil these days, Tats being the only outlier in that lot.

Or they are getting hair transplants. Why is it that there’s so little bald footballers these days? Is the bald gene slowly dying out? Or are there just more people on finasteride?

OK fair enough but his point stands. Sakamoto, Binks, Dovin was like £1.6 million rather than £2 million I think. Can throw is Sheaf, Hamer and Gyokeres too if you want, not like those were long ago. What? I’m not saying that at all, I think Thomas is absolutely brilliant, I’m saying that under £2 mil and it seems like it’s difficult to sign quality players, Sakamoto being the only outlier in the above list. I’m just saying £2 mil and above seems like a decent average price for how much a solid player costs these days.
Not het up at all . The £11M has now become £8M. And the whole point is that the amount is immaterial. We have signed plenty of decent players for relatively small amounts. You basically said that my idea of buying 3 players for around £8 mil is unaffordable, so I’m wondering how much you think we should spend on each player to get the quality we need? Christ almighty. What I’m saying is you’ll get the depth you can afford. Yes, we need more depth. But it’s utterly pointless to expect or demand it unless you are in a position to hand Robins endless cash. I enjoy your undoubted enthusiasm for the team but it’s unreasonable to expect what you want.Erm yes? In terms of depth in the team, yesMessi, Mbappe etc would be played every game if possible, obviously, but if they got injured or needed to be rested then there would be players who would come in for them (and obviously do a much shitter job than them ).
Are you suggesting we don’t need any depth because our starting 11 is decent? I’m not sure what you’re getting at here tbh
Probably check the twitter handle...

You were prepared to spend up to £11M , beyond dispute. Very calmly that's not nitpicking it's just stating fact. Goalposts are supposed to be fixed not moved around .The £8 million is a rounded-down £8.5 million which is halfway between £6-£11 million, I feel like that’s fair and is much easier than saying £6-£11 million every time.
This is what I mean about being het up, you’re constantly nitpicking at a figure that I estimated about a week ago, which even I’ll admit is not based on any prior knowledge of who we’re going to buy, it’s simply my opinion on a fan forum that has no bearing on anything. It’s just an estimated figure from one person’s mediocre point of view, it’s really not that deep.
I’d say CM and ST are the musts and main priority, then CB or RB and Lati can cover the other for this year and focus on a proper next year, then LB can wait till next year unless the right player becomes available and we have the funds to sign them and sell one of Dasilva or BidwellI don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but we certainly need a CM and CB as well as a ST and LB. Maybe RB cover too.
That's a new one on meI don’t know if anyone has mentioned it but we certainly need a CM and CB as well as a ST and LB. Maybe RB cover too.
Hasn't he immediately been loaned out for half the season?Paddy McNair has gone to San Diego, just to dead that rumour.
Going on loan to West Brom as wellPaddy McNair has gone to San Diego, just to dead that rumour.
Thank god , he was starting to sound like Maldini on herePaddy McNair has gone to San Diego, just to dead that rumour.
Straight back to West Brom on loan.Paddy McNair has gone to San Diego, just to dead that rumour.
I give in and wholeheartedly agree with you. It’s unreasonable to expect 2-3 players, even if they’re frees or loans? I’d prefer us to buy players because then they’re ours and that way we can hopefully make profit from them, but I personally don’t think it’s extravagant to expect just 2-3 players, particularly when we clearly need extra depth/quality in the squad. I don’t feel like I’m being frivolous here in any way
Bit bizarre that is.Straight back to West Brom on loan.
