While that is part of their job they also want to get the most information they can in their time. Robins has repeatedly, especially this summer, said he wont make any comment on transfers so there really is no point asking him.
Or you annoy him by asking him questions he's stated numerous times he won't answer, then he no longer talks to anyone about anything. People's lack of patience and the 'I deserve to know everything immediately' attitude is very telling of the times.
Good point and he will know it's part and parcel of the role. He would still be in his right to decline any press and send someone in his place. I'd rather hear from him of course. He’s a grown up. He knows how the football business works and frankly if we ever get back to the Premier league with him it will increase exponentially and they will be much more pointed with the time of their questions too !
I am struggling with the diagnosis of what we need really. Jamie Allen is a box to box midfielder, we don't need another one of him. We need a player that is comfortable receiving the ball under pressure, able to turn in either direction. Skills that both Hamer and O'Hare had.

Pun definitely intended…Gaining further traction now (no pun intended!)
This guy has much more credibility than other posters previously;
I agree that we need a dynamic RB but I still feel we look open in defence and for that reason, if the choice is one or the other, you’d have to go for a CB all day.Think all we need is an all action CM and a dynamic young up and coming RB
I really don't see us signing a centre back unless it's the experienced head type like a younger Mcfadzean. They will want to invest the time and coaching to get the best out of the 4 centre backs we signed last summer.I agree that we need a dynamic RB but I still feel we look open in defence and for that reason, if the choice is one or the other, you’d have to go for a CB all day.
I believe, perhaps naively, that there’s still funds that was earmarked for the Stamenic transfer that never went through. There’s been snippets that we’re still negotiating for Marsden. There’s no point asking questions to which people with some common sense already know the answers. We can see the team is light on a few positions, we can also see the club hasn’t got the money to go after its targets unless someone here or a Swedish guy in Lisbon get sold.
With the latter looking increasingly and bizarrely unlikely, we’re going in with what we have.
It’s possible, but if that’s the truth then there’s no chance the manager will say it in public hence no point in asking the question.I believe, perhaps naively, that there’s still funds that was earmarked for the Stamenic transfer that never went through. We were told about Dovin at the start of the window and he came in about 6-8 weeks after the matter.
If you’re going for higher quality players, these things take time to materialise!

But they get an allocated time with the manager. Whats the point wasting that on something you know wont be answered? That is the essence of journalism …. Getting people to tell you what they would prefer not to. Without that it’s a world of PR releases …..
I really hope this is true. I definitely would be surprised at this phase of the club's growth if our transfer strategy hinged on two downstream transfers (Gyok & Hamer) happening - which we have no control over. To need those to happen to strengthen central midfield for example - would be very dissapointing indeed.I believe, perhaps naively, that there’s still funds that was earmarked for the Stamenic transfer that never went through. Maybe we used the funds earmarked for Stamenic to sign Dovin and BTA, maybe King really did sanction extra cash to sign Stamenic specifically and is fine to do so again if a comparable player is available.I really hope this is true. Another thought I have is that Stamenic perhaps would have been part of a strategy to then sell Sheaf and fund the rest of our deals like Dovin and BTA based off of that. Now that Stamenic deal went tits up, they've had to radically change the order of things.
Where that leaves us is a) sell a valuable player to fund more activity b) do nothing and pray for a Gyok/Hamer move.
b) in particular just doesn't add up to me. I believe we're smarter than that.
I agree. There are valid reasons why the club don't want to provide a running commentary on any transfer intentions or negotiations in progress. It's not an evil plot to keep fans in the dark, it's simply in the best interests of CCFC's efforts to bring in the players we want. It’s possible, but if that’s the truth then there’s no chance the manager will say it in public hence no point in asking the question.
If there are to be more cutting things asked I’d rather it be about the tactical concerns on the pitch.
I’m a broken record on this but I don’t care, I’d like to know what we’re playing at with our defensive corner routines, why we’re playing the ball around at a snail’s pace etc.I agree. I get the curiosity, but social media has lit a flame under people's impatience to know everything before it happens. I'd rather have news than speculation.

You’d probably get some interesting answers.
They loaned him to WBA until their season starts.I see McNair played for WBA last night. i thought he went to MLS. Seems a convoluted arrangement, much like Stamenic to Forest and then Olympiacos
why post a picture of Richard shaw then ?? the reason we got relegated from the PL was the defenceDay 19 asking for a proper centre half.

Spot on!why post a picture of Richard shaw then ?? the reason we got relegated from the PL was the defence
There is literally no news - nothing!@Saddlebrains anything?
We were splashing cash on great attacking players...
No. He's part of San Diego FC but they're not operational till next year, so he's loaned out to WBA. Same thing with Hirving Lozano who's agreed a transfer there but is staying at his club till next summer.I see McNair played for WBA last night. i thought he went to MLS. sure it’s in hand, but getting little twitchy as again last night, just showed we are desperate for that midfielder!
I think once the Premier League starts we might see a loan or two . Would prefer a permanent in midfield but as long as we attract the right player would take two loaneesSame, we really need another midfielder and perhaps backup RB if we’re to get promoted this season.
