Do we though. Do we honestly look better than teams like Burnley Shef utd, Sunderland, leeds etc. in the league so far weve managed to scrape a win against a team who most are tipping to finish bottom this season and the Bristol game we were lucky to get a point thanks to a moment of skill from a player we have now let go.Depends who stays fit. We still look better than most but if Sheaf breaks down for a significant period then we've really left ourselves in a spot of bother.

Would have liked another DM, we could suffer if Sheaf gets injured. But that's a good squad

I can’t imagine Robins will be particularly happy with the midfield situation. After this season he’ll need to make the playoffs for each of the upcoming 3 seasons and get promoted within that time.Sisu with a smile
I don't see how Sheffield United or Sunderlands squads are any better than ours. Burnley, Leeds...possibly but even both of those are far weaker than they were. It's still open, everyone needs to chill a bit, no one won anything after 3 games.Do we though. anyone that travelled to Stoke and Bristol could see that the big problem with the team was a lack of drive and creativity from our midfield and the only player who tried to resolve that has now been sold with no replacement in an all ready light midfield

He's spent a lot of money, he needs to deliver.I can’t imagine Robins will be particularly happy with the midfield situation. After this season he’ll need to make the playoffs for each of the upcoming 3 seasons and get promoted within that time.
The expectations were completely different compared to now. We’ve also consistently paid fees for players during his second time here.I'm sure he was much happier with signing only loans and freebies. Selling key players on the eve of the season. A constant stadium saga and a training ground falling apart.
He does and hence why I think he’s going to be unhappy with the imbalance in the squad. He's spent a lot of money, he needs to deliver.

Looking at Twitter and messages to the official page, Im really hopeful we’ve signed someone. Either we have or the admin team have inexplicably decided to make some enemies for life.
But they deal with that most years? I’m clutching at straws aren’t I?It would appear they've just decided to try and avoid the inevitable frustration that the " that concludes " tweet would have sparked
bullshitAgree with this. To have spent so much and have such an imbalance in the squad isn’t good enough. Top half is more likely this season.
I thought he was their best player last season, certainly against us, but then they were shit weren’t they.Games gone isn't it?
Is he even that good?

Genuinely find that statement quite incredible.I don't see how Sheffield United or Sunderlands squads are any better than ours. Burnley, Leeds...possibly

I think that with the money Doug has sanctioned for Robins and the recruitment team to use, he’s within his right to be somewhat annoyed if the midfield get turned over week in week out and we miss out on the play offs again.Id imagine it was an objective/goal/target not a contractual obligation. I think as long as we’re in the mix year on year and on a sustainable footing Robins will be fine
People have very short memories. It wasn’t that long ago that a transfer window would consist of one of our few decent players being sold for peanuts and only crappy frees and young loans signed. We’ve rejected offers and invested in squad. Would’ve been great to get one or two more in but that’s football
With respect, I think that’s a little naive. If we’re falling short next season, King isn’t going to stick around, IMO. It’s pretty obvious that he sees this as a relatively short-term project from his perspective.Id imagine it was an objective/goal/target not a contractual obligation. Just checked and Stamenic signed for Forrest on the 21st June, over 2 months later no replacement found. Appreciate we only hear snippets of what actually happens behind the scenes, but seeing how quickly the BTA & Bassett deals were done, makes you wonder what have the recruitment team been playing at all summer with the midfield
I think he’ll need a lot of good fortune with injuries to make it this season.Id imagine it was an objective/goal/target not a contractual obligation. I think as long as we’re in the mix year on year and on a sustainable footing Robins will be fine

We've got glaring issues in that midfield and the player we're hoping to solve them is made of balsa wood.
Robins has a habit of finding unlikely solutions to problems so hopefully he conjures something up.
Personally, I think the preseason talk of challenging for the autos was batshit mental so as long as we're around the play off shake up I'll be happy.
Safe to say my comments on Luton’s prospects are already looking…inaccurate. They seem to have been sucked in to playing the same way as most teams are trying to these days and not what was very effective in getting them up.We've got glaring issues in that midfield and the player we're hoping to solve them is made of balsa wood.

I think Torp could come good. He has certainly shown what he's capable of, just needs to be more consistent.Forget our shit past. Since then we’ve been told of a 5 year plan. Completely sobering to commit (lose) another season to Allen, Torp and Eccles.
The midfield is just going to get bullied by certain teams and we’re still in the business of conceding very soft goals while missing sitters up front.Don’t disagree. I’ve never been one to think we’re on for automatics etc. It’s a tough league to get out of, especially with parachute payment clubs. If we’re in the mix for the play offs I’ll be happy, then as you say, you need a bit of luck
Seems all our eggs were in one basket for the midfielder we missed out on in the summer, but that midfield isn't good enough for anywhere near the playoffs. One injury away from being terrible.
