Think last season had a 4 point deduction but yeh still less.I hadn't realised that Forest got more points in their first season after promotion (38) than last season (32)
What did they need to stay up that season?Think last season had a 4 point deduction but yeh still less.
Looking at it, think pragmatism is a thing all the teams who went up (bar cooper’s Leicester) lacked.
You need to stink up the place at times and think a modern example is Brentford who happily swap to a back three and go long when needed what has paid dividends for them. Hope if we go up, we recruit with the idea of using both the 4/3/3 and 5/3/2
27 points i think, cba to look again. What did they need to stay up that season?
More points than 3 other teamsWhat did they need to stay up that season?
They got 32 I’m confusedMore points than 3 other teams
(Leicester 3rd bottom with 34)
That was 22/23 season, last season Luton were 3rd bottom with 26They got 32 I’m confused
Yeah don’t disagree. Unless we got a very rich owner in the summer and got it all sorted which is unlikely, we can’t really afford to throw all the money away like Forrest did in the first year especially when we need the money to improve a lot of the infrastructure around the club imo.Honestly people are deluded if they think we are going to spend £75m+ If we go up.
Even if we did theres still a GREAT chance we would be relegated.
Players like Wright, MVE, Dovin, Torp, Grimes, EMC, Thomas/Kitching will all be around the squad still.
How many teams go up and buy a completely new starting 11 without any players playing that got them there?
Will we have more of an attractive business model if we do eventually go up? Could DK sell? Would Fraser Group be an interested party?Yeah don’t disagree. Who?An interesting question: is it now a good thing that we missed out on Stamenic last summer?
Think too many getting carried away planning for prem tbh. Odds are we will be in the championship next season
So on first point absolutely. Premiership prints money and alot of people are interested in being involved in it.Will we have more of an attractive business model if we do eventually go up? Could DK sell? Would Fraser Group be an interested party?
Lose a week Friday and we’ll be lucky to stay in the top 10
A lot of the problem is that the football authority is toothless when it comes to enforcing the ffp rules. Man City have taken the piss for years, but nothing happens, Everton did the same but just got a meaningless points deductionEveryone posting has recognised the gulf between the PL & Championship, which appears to be widening year on year.
The reason? Obviously, the financial disparity between promoted clubs and the 17 PL clubs that now seem to be cemented into the PL.
If every season all or two of the promoted clubs get relegated, then this financial gap widens.
I'm starting to wonder as to how long it is before the american owners of PL clubs push harder to stop promotion and relegation to the PL.
IMO. The sooner the government gets the football regulator in place, the better for the football pyramid.
Regarding our club, we will need to gamble on some experienced defenders and cheaper foreign imports to give us a chance to survive. A higher risk strategy, but if we are ever to bridge the gap to the PL we need to survive 2 seasons there!
Yeh Forest broke PSR rules to the tune of £30 million+ and got a measly 4 point deduction. It's just an encouragement to break the rules really.A lot of the problem is that the football authority is toothless when it comes to enforcing the ffp rules. Automatic relegation should be the appropriate action plus the stripping of any succes from the records.
Talk of Man City getting 100 point deductions is just bonkers. Won't even be half of that for the biggest piss takers of them all.Yeh Forest broke PSR rules to the tune of £30 million+ and got a measly 4 point deduction. It's just an encouragement to break the rules really.
All I can see is another rule change after the case is seen in their favour. But I don't see it as a big enough victory to mean they are 100% in the clear and due damages. They have a very expensive legal team and will be able to push the rules to the limit.Talk of Man City getting 100 point deductions is just bonkers. Ah the spirit of the game hey, competing on a level playing field, etc... I fucking hate top level football in this country. Also yes i'm a hypocrite that still wants us to be there. All I can see is another rule change after the case is seen in their favour. That’s how we operated under SISU for years! Some clubs are spending more money on legal fees than we spend on wages
My understanding of the charges against Man City is that the most serious are accountancy issues which the FA/PL have no jurisdiction over & if they have broken accountancy rules then they are a criminal court matter affecting more than 1 big accountancy firm and could result in prison sentences. I suspect they will get off with a points deduction and a hefty fine. All I can see is another rule change after the case is seen in their favour. Don't be ridiculous. Odds are odds. Dream about prem by all means but don't take it for granted we will be thereStop talking Lampard down and being so negative

I like Huijsen and the brazilian lad from Forest. To me its got to be marquee CB signings:
- Trevoh Chalobah (loan turning into a buy if we stay up)
- Cameron Carter-Vickers (Perm)
If you genuinely think I argued with you because you didn't show blind optimism for lampard it shows how dumb you are. You got on his back and have been shown up for it and it clearly still frustrates you as you are now trying to change the narrative to I wasn't wrong I just didn't show blind positivity.NEGATIVE
