Who? The times or ccfcMartin Samuel in today's Sunday Times
Coventry’s way with words
Coventry City sacked Mark Robins and then issued a wordy statement explaining why it was a terrible decision.
“Since 2017, Mark has overseen the resurrection of Coventry City from the depths of League Two, to champions of League One and to a hair’s breadth from both the Premier League and a second FA Cup final. He masterminded and built several teams that outperformed their budget, outperformed their infrastructure and brought back a playing style, credibility and belief to our City that had been lost and eroded over many years. These achievements will never be forgotten by those who witnessed and the broader community rekindling their affection for our club. There is no doubt that Coventry City would not be where it is today without the inspired actions of Mark and his team.
Robins did not deserve to lose his job at Coventry after all he has achieved at the club
“Mark’s achievements, often against a backdrop of uncertainty and financial restrictions, will see him remembered and lauded as one of the club’s greatest managers, able to galvanise players, staff, fans and the club as a whole to incredible feats.”
Wouldn’t it have been simpler to just send around a short memo, that read: “Good morning, we’re idiots.”
Even *if* that is true, it doesn't mean he is wrong.Martin Samuel is an odious man. He would eat himself if he could,
There are 2 types of people in this world … those that like Martin and those that have met him. I’ve met him.
I much prefer to read Samuel than Oliver Holt.Martin Samuel is an odious man. He would eat himself if he could,
There are 2 types of people in this world … those that like Martin and those that have met him. I’ve met him.
He is , but he also thinks this decision is insaneI personally think Henry Winter is a class apart.
I agreeMartin Samuel is an odious man. He would eat himself if he could,
