Fair enough. Personally, I wouldn’t have changed the structure in the way that King did, especially as it could have been done gradually rather than all at once and caused disruption.I’m saying I want to see change. If Robins was the issue and not the top tier elite modern set up then now he’s gone with his old school ideas Dr Claire and the gang can finally implement these amazing tactics we’ve been missing and we’ll fly up the league, right?
No way shmeee said that?
Hahahahajajaja

No, not Perry.I think it’s Perry, isn’t it? I’m not overly familiar with the positions of the youth team players, to be honest.
Andrews, Dausch, Perry, Yearn…we let Stretton go despite how often he’d score, Rus was on the fringes of the first team then left, Howley and Burroughs will probably go the same way.
I find it hard to fathom why we’re not producing that quality of young talent nowadays, that can break into the first team. Eccles is the only one for a while.
No. And this was the part of me that was Robins out that you and Tom have been referring to. Doug clearly decided early on he didn’t like the setup and at the end Robins was just fronting Kings setup and maybe it’s best for King to live or die on his own ideas rather than drag Robins through that.
My concern as a fan is the setup is shit and staffed by people with a poor track record mostly in their first jobs at this level (first team Championship pro men’s football). And now we are going to go through a succession of equally unqualified and shit “head coaches” until Doug gets bored and fucks off and we are likely in L1 at best.
Yeah, same but there wasn’t much in the Derby performance to suggest we would’ve with robins in charge either. Some of the players do seem to turn it up a notch for the bigger games though
So what your saying is he's an emotional lil fella?he did, caveated it by saying it was heat of the moment in the match thread. Those threads are a steaming pile of hysterical bullshit & he’s made a fair bit of sense in what he’s said since, so I give him a pass
Surely the coaches would have been taking direction from Robins on tactics? And the same will be true whoever comes in.I think Rhys Carr should have gone with Robins if not before him. Along with the rest of the coaching set up. I think we’re shit because of them and the fact nothing is changing suggests it’s their ideas that are being enacted and therefore they should have been sacked.
For as long as I've followed City, we've always raised our game against the better sides. Have you not been paying attention at the back, mate?
With Robins in charge I'd have fancied our chances for this one, strangely enough. Let's see how team iPad do, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised...

I don’t mind the structure itself but hearing that apparently the people in this new structure are poor- that fills me with dread about what happens next.
I have no idea what expect today. A huge defeat or an inspirational win, neither would surprise me. Most likely seems a gallant yet depressing defeat tbh. To be honest it’s all a sideshow as we wait to see who the new manag… sorry Head Coach is. This will all change come kick off, but right now I can’t remember a game I’ve been less emotionally invested in.
You say we shouldn't be dominating teams on the pitch like big money clubs doI do mind the structure. The best club on the planet don’t use it. I don’t think it’s a prerequisite. Structures are useful for instilling a base level of competence in an organisation with the drawback of restricting top tier talent. They try and codify mediocrity so those below the level are dragged up, but they also stop exceptional people breaking the mould.
Structures are for when you’re shit and want to be average. But they’re a means to an end. If you’re already at the end there’s no need for a means. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve exceeded the structure. Sure at some point if you drop below mediocrity then bring a structure in to get you back there. But all of that is just a holding pattern while you wait for the lottery ticket of genius to propel you forwards above mediocrity. When that happens you hold your breath and hope it lasts.
I saw Collins last season against Hull. I don’t need to see him again. We haven’t seen Collins yet to be fair. Maybe he’s the best keeper and robins kept him out as he was in the get rid camp.
It’s only one game anyway before the name boss comes in against top of the league. Free hit
Haha, fair point. You know what I mean though. Some looked totally disinterested against Derby, especially the first 60 mins, some of those same players probably would’ve upped their game again today. It’s happened too often this season and it’s that inconsistency that’s ultimately seen Robins sacked
Not sure now. Will be interesting to see how the players react
Edit - robins sounded exasperated, almost resigned to the fact in his interview after Wednesday….like it was out of his control whether they turned up or not
Tbh, in the immediate aftermath of Wednesday night I didn't expect anything today anywayExpecting nothing other than an absolute lesson taught to us today
Typical of us to go and win this. Wouldn’t bet on it, but wouldn’t bet against it eitherExpecting nothing other than an absolute lesson taught to us today
Expecting nothing other than an absolute lesson taught to us today
Me too but fear that might have to wait till new HC is inNot sure I was expecting a win anyway.
I do want to see a reaction and some fight though. I want to be able to see a game plan and what the players are trying to do.
The setup during the bulk of the MR era was non-existent, and what coaches we did have were also mostly no-marks at senior Championship level. Which is totally fine if you’re seeing results out of it, but if you’re not?My concern as a fan is the setup is shit and staffed by people with a poor track record mostly in their first jobs at this level (first team Championship pro men’s football).
Trafford had a bit of a disaster of a season last season.I don’t know, think he’ll be good this season or worst case next year just needs to get to know his defence and get a bit more comfortable here.
James Trafford tho was bizzare, had a good U21 World Cup following a decent year at Bolton in league one and suddenly was a number one in the premiership. Bizzaro land

But we were. Unless you think a playoff final isn’t a result.
Which was a couple of years ago and even then he made some questionable decisions.
Bringing Palmer on to take him off again. Bringing dabo on etc.
“Were” being the operative word there. But we were. Unless you think a playoff final isn’t a result.
“Were” being the operative word there.
Won't be watching or listening today, can't be arsed, lost my mojo
Nick you’ve been talking shite on him since L2. Your opinion is moot.
Doug started changing things last season, not last summer.
