I'm sure he won't be making that decision alone, do you?You seem to be missing several people's points.
Not just this season but our short term future totally depends on our next managers appointment. Most appointments fail which is why managers don't last long. Listening to one side of a story only rarely gives you the whole picture.
Of course King wants us to succeed. Only an idiot would say differently. But the next decision is bigger than the one to let Robins go. My biggest worry is that it is to be made by someone who admits that he doesn't know much about football.
But with help from who?I'm sure he won't be making that decision alone, do you?
Like you I found the Talksport interview rather unconvincing. Doug realed it in a lot perhaps realising he overstepped last night. I feel yesterday and today raise an enormous number of questions but even if Robins came out and gave his own full and frank version of events we will never really have the full picture. I think we probably just need to let these threads die a natural death and move on.In the end the only debate is did Robins deserve more time to turn it around
Strongly agree with this. Things could get really messy if we turn on Doug/the team/the new manager over the next couple of months. I just don't want to go back 'there'.I'm saying giving Doug the benefit of the doubt will be more enjoyable than not.
What does that mean?
Fair enough and I get thatYou've missed my point.
I'm saying giving Doug the benefit of the doubt will be more enjoyable than not.
Some people seem really keen on spending the next few months/seasons waiting for us to fail so they can claim some kind of moral victory.
Sound's like you areYou can choose to believe or not but I lived in West Bridgford and one mid afternoon he asleep in my front garden pissed
Helpful, thanks.Big Boomer energy in this post
First paragraph isn’t what he said but he did imply itMorning reminder.
Robins sacked because results over a prolonged period were poor and the owner saw we were trending towards a relegation battle, which was unacceptable. Home form being particularly concerning.
People didn't like it because they thought Doug removed Adi and forced a new coaching setup on Robins, even though that was clearly not the case, start acting like babies online.
Doug comes out to speak and confirm that the exact opposite it true.
People now cry like babies because they say that's unprofessional, although the real reason of course is it's made them look stupid. Conspiracy theories start to slowly ramp up again (this will be a fun few days/weeks.)
The end.
Helpful, thanks.
I was wondering what the relevance of my age is?

Who said he's the devil? He's a manager who did a very good job here but given more tools at his disposal got it wrong and wasn't delivering. If people accepted the most obvious explanation that would have been it, we say thank you very much for your service, you've done great but we're stagnating, good luck for the future. That's it!Doug king is not an angel and robins isn’t the devil
Yes mate because I tell you what , nothing beats promotions , playoff finals , 4 wembley visits and an fa cup semi final like giving somebody the benefit of the doubt ... I'm inPersonally I think being a Cov fan over the next few years is going to be much more enjoyable if you give Doug the benefit of the doubt
It seems that Robins has gone from hero to zero in a matter of hours after a one sided brief from the person who depends on the people he gave his story to.
I would guess he is correct with what he has said. But he has given his own spin on it. But my guess would be that a lot was missed out on. For instance we all knew we needed more players in. Loans could have made a massive difference but King didn't want to pay for someone that was a loss of money. Easily brushed over.
There's many things that could have caused bad blood between the two of them. And there was only going to be one winner.
I will be keeping an open mind and will wait for more information to come out in the weeks and months ahead before thinking I know what has happened between the two of them.
I think I can jump from all 3 depending on what time of day it isI think we need to put a line under this
I believe people are falling into three camps here
1. Doug King has told the full truth and it was all MR's fault and he had to act
2. MR has been shafted and Doug King has no idea about football
3. We will never know the full details, but things have not been right performance wise for a long time now, the FA Cup games against Wolves and Man United have glossed over poor performances in the league
I would like to think I'm in camp 3, I will wait and see who Doug appoints and will wait and see if the team starts performing as we want them too
That's not to say I'm not pissed off with losing MR, it's like moving away and losing a close friend etc, we all get on with life and things change along the way, sometimes for the better and sometimes not, but we adapt PUSB
It's his money that he will lose if he gets it wrong. You can be sure he will get the very best advise he possibly can.My biggest worry is that it is to be made by someone who admits that he doesn't know much about football.

Rubbing your hands at the thought of us doing badly so you can stick it to people on the internetAlso .. if things go massively wrong from here , some of us will have great fun with certain posters
First paragraph isn’t what he said but he did imply it
Doesn’t help to be binary
Doug king is not an angel and robins isn’t the devil
Danger of giving all the details without a right of reply is it causes a split
Jesus not this again. He is not spending any of his own money.
Jesus not this again.
Yes he is.
All the assets of Coventry City are his, any income that arises from them are is. Whether he then banks that income personally or reinvests it in the club is his decision. Either way it’s his money.
The People's Front of Judea and the Judean People's Front.A split between who?
He can ask the performance director, if she's back from her holiday, as well as the other football experts at other clubsMy concern is that of where DK will get advice from when appointing a new coach. It seems Dean Austin is much in favour given he accompanied him in the fans forum.Given his less than perfect recruitment track record, can he be sure a good decision can be reached?
Fan baseA split between who?
Yes he owns us and can do whatever he wants with the income.. But talk about spending his own money, and people think it is from his own sources away from the club.Jesus not this again.

Yes he didDidn't he answer that?
