if were gonna saty up we need to play well ourselves,we are not gonna meet 13 more barnsleys

the great escape is on, but some people can see the problems we have and how they will cost us in the near future,we want them to be rectified so we speak up

what good does burying your head in the sand and praising a result that doesnt tell the full story?

Yeah i admit we will hardly get another Barnsley team here like today we seen for a long time to come but the thing i have mostly seen from CCFC is that they always surprise you with a performance that we didn't expect ie leeds then the next game at forest.

I'm not saying that was a brilliant performance far from it i'm saying that it is pointless slating the players because at the end of the day they have done what we all wanted and more importantly needed the 3 points so i think we should just feel happy we have got them and look on to next week and cheer on the lads and hope for a better display.

Think the argument here, to sum it all up is;

Had we played really well, people would be saying "Well if we play like that every week we have a really good chance of staying up."

Rather than, as yesterday we didn't play well, particularly in the first half, when we could be saying, "Well if we play like that every week we are going to really struggle to survive."

Great 3 points yesterday, but I do share the concern of others (and no, I'm not being negative - just realistic). 19 shots and I can't really remember Luke Steele having to make any real saves. When Barnsley parked in their own half, we had no idea how to find space or move forward. It was patient play, but we were getting no-where. This I think is our problem - possession without progression. No cross runs, no bursting into space. We played well to Platt's strength, he won and held up the ball, but then generally back it cam to midfield. You could see the frustarted midfield (Norwood in particular) holding the ball as there wasn't a pass on.
Sorry, as I say, I'm not being negative, just pointing out that we need to either run through with the ball, or find space for a pass.
Thank God Barnsley came to sit back and not have a go at us.....

Whilst the result was very good yesterday, we must remember that there is still a long way to go. Unless we learn to pick up points away from home we will go down.

Yes we should be pleased with the result, but lets not get carried away after scraping a win against a team we haven't lost at home to for 90 years.

I would say its still going to be any 3 out of the bottom 5 so the odds are still against us.

Isn't this a "confidence" issue?
Very hard to instill it in young players when the club and stadium are awash with negativity.
The fact that Clarke popped up with a match winning contribution speaks volumes for the lad. Those that criticised him are the sort that blight life, you know the sort, glass half empty merchants.

A late goal against a dreadful barnsley has masked the fact that we where Cr*p yesterday,no idea's going forward and a poor defence not really called upon due to the quality of the opposition,
how many times did our high rate of possession break down with the defence passing it to each other and then to the Keeper, No ideas from our midfielders which meant that the forwards dropped back to get the ball time after time,We are clueless and the only thing that might (and might not) save us is the fact that there are a huge number of poor teams in this league and fingers crossed some more of them might go into administration

Most importantly we have to start picking up more points from away games :blue::blue:

Or we could just scrape some more crap wins against crap opposition like we did yesterday. God forbid other teams might be worse than us on the day. I bet you a fiver that if we stay up it wont be because anymore teams go into admin!

Exactly. I remember having to win the last three games to stay up. Did we do it? Yes we did. Were the fans behind the team? yes they were.

There too much of a "what's the point?" attitude for my liking. We ain't down until we're down. Until then, anything is possible.

Its just another thing we can thank Jimmy Hill for. Three points for a win means that if you go on a run, you will be rewarded. Barnsley are only where they are now due to a fortunate run of something stupid like 5 wins. If a team that bad can do it then so can we. The Ricoh has a great record in 2012.

We blew it against Forest, but did what we had to against Leeds and Barnsley. The fight is still on. Forget the what ifs around us. Jump on the Sky Blue bandwagon and believe.

It feels quite good... Trust me!

I missed the Ipswich game so I've seen nothing but victories at the Ricoh since the Hull defeat in early December. Away is different as I did see us throw the points away at Blackpool, but that probably wasn't my fault.

was an awful game yesterday, Barnsley went 4-5-1 and got 9 men behind the ball at every opputunity and we simply didnt have the nouse or quality to break them down.

Luckily Keith Hill decided to get a bit more adventurous in the 2nd half and went 4-4-2 which helped us start to get on top and we mamanged to get the goal.

Bar Cranie, Keogh and Nimley we have a side full of young naive players learning their trade or players that simply are not good enough at this level.

Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee.

If we stay up this season it will be the greatest escape of them all.

Couldnt agree more. It was rubbish against Barnsley. We are going down I hate to say it but so true. Thorn just hoped today we would snatch a goal and got lucky. I hope I am wrong, but we are in a very very poor league and are probably the second worst team in it.

Grow up. Stop the lazy labelling and attempts to stifle discussion. What fan would possibly take pleasure in relegation or liquidation? Those that call for change do so in order to try to avoid precisely those eventualities.

But a few people here pointing out the reality of our situation won't make the team any better or any worse. Right, for clarity's sake...

1. I was referring to the games we've lost but had 'chances' in and therefore 'unlucky' to lose (as per some fans opinions)

2. This post, when read correctly will show that I'm looking for a soloition to stay up - not accepting relegation with a defeatist attitude.

I have no problem with the belief of all fans and I stand right beside you - but you can't just say "everything will be alright if we get behind the team" or "keep the faith". Sometimes more than a positive attitude is required. So I'm simply stating the facts and giving my 'opinion' on a soloition. Actions speak louder than... positive thoughts.

Fact 1: the team plays well one week and dog poo the next
Fact 2: if we play like we did against Barnsley, we would have to be very lucky to stay up
Fact 3: the manager is not getting the best out of the team

You can all sit there and have faith that this manager will get us out of trouble- its your 'opinion' - but hey... Don't forget, he's the one that led the team to that position.

Now, if you still think 1. the team is good enough to stay up and 2. We need to get behind them - I have just one question...

If you think the team is good enough to stay up, then surely that means SISU left Andy Thorn with a competitive side. Therefore, if we do go down - is it not his fault? Ie: if you believe that this team can stay up and we don't, the It's a management problem, because there was nothing wrong with the team?

What's the "argument" here?? That we should be doing better?? Have a day off, we have been nailed down for relegation since August and now all of a sudden we are in with a real chance of staying up. But of course, that's not good enough for some - haven't all the "changes" you mention i.e. predicatable knee jerk reactions, got us into this mess in the first place?

I want to support the team unconditionally and I expect the same of others. Grow up.
