Swindon avoid threat of administration after takeover by local consortium
Swindon have announced a consortium has bought the club, subject to Football League approval.
The Robins were recently placed under a transfer embargo and there was speculation that the npower League One club could fall into administration.
However, the club have now reached agreement on a takeover which should safeguard their future. No details of the consortium itself were released, though reports suggest it is led by Banbury owner Jed McCrory.
Tricky one this - I'm inclined to agree from a fan's perspective but if the club is spending beyond it's means and the owners are not making up the difference then it's not fair on the creditors of that club and obviously bad for football as we all know so in a way it's an unfair advantage and they should be penalised for it
