Well my immediate first two questions are how and why.

Where did he get the tools from? That's one huge tree.

As for the why, the only thing that I can conjure up in my fevered brain is that maybe he was drugged up

Just all seems so senseless

That’s the thing isn’t it. Has to be premeditated as it’s not like you could just be going past pissed up and decide to do it

Can’t quite get my head around why anyone would want to do this. Given the location and the fact it’s national trust land you can’t even say some developer has paid someone to do it
