We can dream, probably isn't true, but ah we'll, may as post it. (NOTE: from the 'Transfer Rumours' BS site)

Coventry City are rumored to be in early talks with The Olayan Family from Saudi Arabia about a full take over of the club. The deals include investment in the surrounding area plus full ownership of The RICOH. More to follow...

If only!

Haha, spot on.

Bit of gossip isn't bad, is it?

It'd be nice if it were true, but the extreme likelihood is that it isn't...

I cannot believe this if it is only on the Transfer Rumours website. But if there were anything in it, the family could afford to redevelop the whole area as they are loaded:

It's true! I've seen them at the tesco's petrol station, they were filling up for the cannonball run! Don't no why Burt Reynolds was with them! But I'm sure all will come out on Thursday..... Well that's what Tim fisher said in the casino to me after the last home game

I think Wag and Fisher have gone quite purely,
because SISU are currently reassessing what their plan B is and starting to try and raise capital.

Be careful of wanting a takeover cause foreign owners might just want their own man in charge, their own personal walkover.

Crazy i know but foreign owners dont allways have a clue

There isn't a point to correct, most takeovers are by foreign owners. Their being foreign isn't the factor that causes upheaval.

We may actually have foreign owners at the moment.

Is she not the chief executive though, who rightfully owns the club, anyone know?

A local businessman is more likely to notice the great job Mark robins has been doing.

A foreigner is more likely to bring in glen hoddle or Kevin keegan lol

They are our caretakers. We don't actually know our owners.

Up until now they have been proving the suggestion about foreign owners right

Someone posted on that rumour site in responce to this takeover rumour.

"Why would we want some Saudi Arabian people owning us"

Why indeed? Well here's some good reasons (assuming its true, which i sadly doubt it is):

* They are reported to be worth something like $4 billion (which in pounds is £2,545,824,000).
* This would mean they have a fair amount of money to back them up in whatever they decide to do with our club and the surrounding area.
* Not only would they be able to buy the whole stadium meaning no more rent problems and a lot less media attention!
* They could give Robins a good amount of money to buy high profile player targets etc. Money and wages wouldn't be an issue anymore.
* We could (in a way) expect promotion back to the premiership within 2 seasons if the money was used responsibly (which assuming robins was kept in charge, I know it would!) to bring in the right players for the job!
* The deal would stipulate that they develop the land around the ricoh. This would mean the area as a whole would benefit as more businesses would be created, more housing, therefore more money as a whole coming to the city!

With all these in mind, that's exactly why we'd want some Saudi Arabian company buying us. This is of course as long as they don't feth around like SISU did. I for one think they wouldn't because they don't hide who they are (unlike SISU who hide behind their 10%). We'd know who owned us and hopefully they'd be fully open with what they planned for our club! I just think some fans believe they can say who does and doesn't own our club. In the end its the money that says who does and doesn't own our club just like money is the reason we can only get certain players and lose other players like McGoldrick and also why we don't own our stadium at the moment!
