Team Spirit (2 Viewers)

I can see why we have been linked with some of the older players in midfield and at the back this season, as we have lost so many characters. The only real senior player left apart from Wilson is Bidwell.
We have had a great team spirit since MR returned. That 3-3 draw with Portsmouth was one of the first indicators we did not give up like our teams under previous managers. The win against Bristol City with ten men, the comebacks against Wolves and Man U last season.
Watch City Unseen (and although edited) there seemed to have been a great spirit among the players who were always having a laugh.
I worry that Fadz, Adi, O'Hare, Kelly and Godden leaving (all big characters) may change the dressing room dynamic. Obviously only O'Hare is one we would have hoped to keep, although I have voiced my concerns regarding Adi leaving. Even MR said O'Hare was great to have in the dressing room when he was coming back from injury.
MR mentioned the quiet dressing room when we were struggling to integrate at the start of last season.
MVE is obviously a positive character that encourages other players, as indicated by H Wright and Tatsu is a sunny individual.
Weirdly on Unseen many of the players who seem to be at the centre of things, Wilson, JDS, Palmer, Lati and Tavarez are the ones people want to get rid of.
I gather personality is a major part of our recruitment so lets hope we are getting it right.

I've thought about this a bit, too. Naturally, a new personality and bond will be formed when new players join and especially when "big personalities" leave.

Yes, character is great - but lets not be revisionist here - for all the comebacks there have also been really awful performances from kick off to the final whistle where nobody stepped up.

Higher quality players with better coaching need that spirit a little less perhaps - if they can perform more consistently, adapt to the opponents and be coached.

So - I do think you lose some of that spirit maybe, but you also need it less.

O’Hare is the only one I’d be worried about losing in terms of team spirit. The rest of the old guard are probably quite disconnected from what the younger, post-2000 born players think about or how they respond to worries/pressures. We have a much younger team now and I think they’ll form their own team spirit without the need of Godden, Fadz or Kelly being there for them.

To be fair, much as I love COH I'd imagine he doesn't leave a lot of room for anyone else to talk because he's such a hyper dude. Losing some of the big loud folks allows room for other people to get involved.

You can't tell me Rudoni with his bleached blond mop hasn't got scope to say some stupid shit and receive it.

I think the younger players we have signed are big characters. Lats/Thomas/Kitching/MVE and Binks

Collins/Haji/Simms/Sheaf seem quite

not sure about Sheaf as a vocal club captain.

There is also no stand out Skipper in the team other than Lats possibly.

Go back to the start of the season MR made a big point about it didn't he lasted for quite a few months!
Kinda get striker's it's a good quality for calmness during the match etç, I bet Browne would be ideal for the skipper role!!

The new signings seem to be gelling in really well, and everyone seems really together and most importantly quickly gelling, the togetherness in the squad is all we need, and I think MvE is that glue holding it all as he seems like such a big character, and I think Rapha might be a big character as well seems like a really likeable young man
