many of you don't agree but NOW is the time to move forward in hope

SISU are not going to move without money back so

COUNCIL / ACL sell the ground to SISU - surly there's a conditional way they can do it with SISU having the development land to get money back and we have the stadium and new owners

PLEASE let us have our club back - and in COVENTRY

Cant see us in Coventry any time soon but cling on to faint hope that someone may be able to break the deadlock. To many people sitting in entrenched positions to move the process forward in any way because they want to or have their hands tied and have too. The most distasteful part for me is the club being used as a lever to emotionally blackmail the council into selling. NOPM for my family, JS is driven by return on investment so I don't wish to give her anything, not that she is emotionally connected like me or mine. PUSB

Sorry mate, I understand your frustration but with SISU as owners we can never move forward with hope.

Believe this: They are on their knees due to low attendances in Northampton. They are under severe pressure from their investors to either deliver a return or change course.

Stay strong, don't give in and NEVER have them back at the Ricoh.

I agree, I can't believe so many people have lost faith in the campaigns on the back of one Seppala interview. She might be digging her heels in, but isn't that what people do when they are loosing a tug of war?

When SISU either move back to the Ricoh or start building a new ground (not planning) I will reconsider....but I will take a lot of convincing.

I don't believe that 5 predictably low attendances have suddenly put a multi-layered hedge-fund on their knees.......that's frankly naïve in the extreme IMHO.

I'd like to believe that the majority of City fans would settle for City back at the Ricoh now & worry about who owns us later....

SISU have made a loss the last two years. Investors don't invest money in losing funds. It isn't Joy losing her own money. The money she is losing is her cut in the profits. Without investors there is no SISU. She can't afford to keep throwing good money after bad. It isn't her money.

You might be right, but also equally naive.....I don't believe SISU are prepared to fund this potentially for the next 3-5 years which is a realistic forecast for a new stadium.

Considering several subsidiaries, not one, have failed to post accounts should ring some alarm bells.

Fisher gave the reason for not posting accounts, "With the ongoing rent dispute we cannot give an accurate forcast." Fine.

Now a rent deal at Northampton, eight games in, how much longer do they need to workout a forecast?

Until SISU post accounts how can anyone, regardless of your stance, have faith in SISU?

I really do want to be convinced by SISU...six years these financial 'shepherds of money' have had the opportunity to convince me!

What Fisher "predicted" publicly (was it between 3K & 6K depending on how we were doing...I think that's right but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) & what Sisu/otium actually budgeted for are probably 2 different figures....besides, that not really my point.

My point was that the performance of Sisus funds do not solely rely on whether there are 2000 or 6000 going to watch 3rd tier football in a 4th tier backwater......Yes, i'm sure it has an impact....but to suggest their whole business & portfolio is struggling because of 1000 or even 3500 missing sixfields fans is naïve.

I was merely pointing out that after 5 "home" games, there is no way anyone can state with any real evidence or conviction that NOPM has suddenly brought Sisu to their knees....

sisu may well be fucking it up in loads of different markets & losing investors cash hand over fist due to many many reasons.....I just think to categorically state a multi-layered fund is fucked simply because of a handful of shit attendances at a football match is ridiculous.

what you say may be true , but it also shows would be investors in their projects, " do they know what their doing", this is not good for sisu. so it all is relevant.

The point is we don't know! If they do want to take us forward do they need to keep us on board?

So if nothing else campaigns may at least make them question how they communicate with fans.

Like I said I've been waiting six years for them to convince me! As a fan I feel the ball is firmly in there court.

If they were hurting badly as a result of low attendances, do you really think they'd announce it.

Of course they wouldn't. So what would they do?

A charm offensive would be a good place to start. See if we can win over a few thousand fans by pretending there's a caring, human side to SISU after all... and play the role of victim.

Agree they won't be on their knees, but the attendances weren't predicatable to SISU. Fisher said 3-7K. Given the form has generally been good the crowds must be at a third of what they expected.

If SISU weren't worried, Sepalla certainly wouldn't have crawled out of her hole.

My issue with NOPM is not that it won't work, it is that it will not work quickly. We all say we want CCFC back in Coventry asap, but the quickest route to that outcome has always been, and remains, a sale of the Ricoh to SISU.

Of course the loss of revenue will hurt, but at a minimum I expect them to hold out for this season and perhaps over the summer. That all seems a very long way away at the moment. That is just me speculating obviously, but I cannot see them caving in anytime soon, although I expect gates to start falling further as we get into the winter so that might move things on a bit. But we're all guessing I suppose.

You always talk a lot of sense on here and post interesting points of view.

But why the haste? I want our future put on a firm footing in the long term not the short. Someone could sell me a ten year plan tomorrow with the right projections.

For me SISU are trying to sell us an 8 year plan with no guarantees beyond next week. They introduced the threat of liquidation (a threat that is possible and catastrophic) so that is the cloud they have put me under.

SISU (financial experts?) six years in are still are still saying the accounts are a mess? But not posting their own. In their tenure of CCFC, SISU have had their companies fined for tax evasion.

I think a lot of fans hoped they would bring money but also budgetary control....they have done neither...their eyes seem focused elsewhere.

I don't attend Sixfields, but I know you do. So what! I know our hearts are in the same place Coventry City FC.

Also I think we agree there is no quick solution!

Agree Ferret, i want us playing back where we belong but i dont htink SISU will ever go cap in hand to ACL and ask to rent the ground back. I honestly think they would rather burn the club to the ground and out of exsistence than rent it back, too much water has gone under than bridge in my opinion. The only way is for a deal to be done, maybe 50% of the ground could be an initial bargaining point to get us back maybe but other than that we are stuck in Northampton until a new ground is built.

There is no guarantees though is there and i think this is where every fan is frustrated. Haskell, Hoffman or anyone who is interesting in the club cannot make guarantees that 'it will be okay' because it only takes another recession (for example) and this would drastically affect every man and his dog.

I think the rush for all fans is to get us back in Coventry, for that we dont really have much of a say but can only voice what we feel about the situation.

I confess I am becoming very impatient, and I cannot stand the thought of this nonsense continuing into next season. Given that, I would support the idea of a sale to SISU if certain safeguards could be put in place - as the lesser of two evils (and our exile in Northampton is positively heinous). For me, priority number one is to get the club back in Coventry, but that doesn't mean the campaign to force SISU out need stop at that point.

FWIW, I decided yesterday to call time on my visits to Northampton. Cannot bring myself to do it anymore. Having said that, I will be there for Sheff Utd having agreed to join in with the protests that day. Beyond that I'm done.

Covstu and the Ferret,

Yes it's frustrating....but I have never seen SISU shift once on negotiations. I have never seen them come out with a projection saying we will lead you out of the mess.

Meanwhile people have shown an interest but not made a successful bid. Either three of us would make a bid if we won a mammoth European lottery I am sure.

I have said in loads of posts, I will reconsider if SISU show real intent or a clear financial plan.

Meanwhile....I will support Steven Pressley, the staff, in their efforts......next game for me Wolves away.

As a last resort would I support a Phoenix club? yes I would if it was out of the Ashes SISU left behind.

Well as we've moved on from the Ricoh both Tim and Joy have said it we need to get that new stadium built ASAP. I can see the argument that SISU are waiting on the outcome of the JR application appeal before doing anything concrete (pun not intended) about the new stadium. However the longer we wait the longer we're marooned in Sixfields which isn't good for anyone. Interestingly according to the Brentford website there were 2,650 people there, but it isn't mentioned on the Beeb site or the Telegraph (we had over 10,000 last time). Is that figure correct does anyone know?
