I just logged in for a quick check and relief from an otherwise busy day and for the first time I find nothing I either want to read particularly or find anything that interest me on this forum.
This whole sense of continued post about the current issues are becoming monotonous, with the slightest inconsequential dribble being posted verbatim. Perhaps now the team is doing well perhaps we can have more about the football side of things?
We should be talking about the team more, performances, the manager, the next game and less about the other issue which will after all have to take care of itself. It's causing division and argument between everyone when we should be arguing about the team, the players etc.

It's spoiling the board now. Maybe it's time for this 'other stuff' to be posted in a separate dedicated area? We all know the issues and we all keep disagreeing so if you want to discuss it endlessly, verbatim and repeatedly without any new news of substance, it ought to be in it's own place. It's getting depressing!

.....just a thoughtful rant!

1-As Sir Matt Busby said to Sir Alex Ferguson when referencing Sir Alex's anxiety over Newspaper headlines given his less than glorious start at United- "Dont read them son"
2-Assuming the correlation between attendance figures and forum members- 90% are not now watching the football, based on the ludicrous decision to play that football in Northampton. Hence not much footy chat(most regrettable)

I've been feeling the same way about it myself for the past few weeks Paxman. I think the problem is that nothing significant is happening now to cause any change to the dreadful situation we find ourselves in. I could be wrong, but frankly, unless ACL, or someone else, decides to take legal action over the administration process itself, (which I assume is unlikely), I don't think much will happen to move things forwards in the immediate future. So we're just left with the endless arguments and speculation over past events and I'm certainly finding it tedious.

The one thing that has changed is the performance of the team, which at least so far has been terrific. I'd find this forum more interesting if there were more posts which focussed on that!

You can do both.
We all want to discuss football but it is difficult with the current situation.
I don't want to let Sisu get away with this mess, if they have done wrong we need to keep it in the public eye, until they have gone or at least bought us back to the Ricoh.
I for one can't discuss football until we are back in Coventry, it's like someone else's team at the moment, not mine.
I'm going through the motions of Away games and Radio in the hope that they come back, but a successful team in Northampton means nothing to me.

Missed that first time round...

You discuss Footie until your hearts content, maybe we all should instead of bickering about the owners and Council..

I can't agree with you. We all love our Sky Blues and all of us are on this forum - it's not about the 90% division of people who are not going to 'home games' it's about the 100% who read this forum. It's also not about 'not reading them' I don't anymore but that does not stop me opening them to find it's the same repedid message disguise as something else or stolen (as so often) by another poster and regurgitated as a new message. You have the tedium of opening it before you know. It's boring.

Take a look now at any first page on any given day. The likelihood is over 75% are about the 'issues' and not football related.
It's getting annoying and making me a less frequent visitor.

I have a degree of sympathy with you... and agree that we all would love to be talking about the team. BUT... and this is where we disagree, you cannot realistically expect forum members to debate team affairs when most(if correlation to attendance is established) don't actually watch the team. I'm afraid Pax much as I would like too deny it, the position we are in prohibits sensible football talk in favour of THE issue.
Maybe a SBT sabatical is required-my Sir Alex reference wasnt meant to be rude- just friendly advice and actually not bad advice at that?

paxman, you may live in your 'ivory tower' in the cotswolds,
but, you i, & countless thousands of others want to discuss football,
& what is in the way of that ?
perhaps you don't want it discussed, but our owners (whether capable, culpable, or or competent enough),
have successively placed a problematic situation against the club,
this together with a level of obduracy from the other parties involved,
i, would proffer that this is as a result of sisu's actions,
as far as the football is concerned, i am concerned that we may have a problem with resources,
in consideration of the number of younger players able to cope with a 50+ game season,
thus, a small squad, demanded by ???????????
mini rant over............

There was forum for all things 'finances etc ' relating to CCFC and that now is where it should be.

Not denying you or others that any substantial NEW news would be welcome on here of course but the mundane stuff that keeps getting on here is muddying the fun of the forum.

You want to keep getting political about your club then it should not share the same place as the 'football threads'.

So I live in an Ivory Tower? Seems if we are not arguing with each other we are taking snipes. You miss the entire point I was making.

Like your mention of football related stuff though ;)

Maybe Nick should consider a "CCFC Football only" section and a "CCFC SISU V ACL" section- but would speculate that the latter would at present get the most hits- simply because most of us want to but won't go(Home).

I like that King Power and something similar was up for discussion a week or so ago. I was 50/50 on that at the time because the post were highly informational but now my point is they have become tedium and none news worthy.
As for which one of those forums would get more hits makes no difference to the board. You make a choice as to which one you read. Personally I think surprisingly perhaps to you and others the football threads would be more popular. I'll wager - Your house against my Ivory Tower. ;)

I think we all await next steps with baited breath- hence the apparent somewhat repetitive nature of the thread topics/discussion- next steps are Judicial review appeal result? Suggest you stay away from the forum at that juncture..- for your own sanity!!!

Would be an unfair bet I'll just wager my West Wing....;)

I don't agree the club is at a low point of all time, everything being discussed is more important than a few football matches.

I understand what you are saying Paxo, but the problem is the future of our club is at stake. And on the football side hardly anyone are going to the games, so it would be lonely for the few that do go.

I do agree to a certain extent with Paxman's statements but obviously we cannot avoid the biggest thing to happen to us for many a year! Sadly this will be on here for a long, long, long, long time as SISU are not going anywhere!!!

Paxman, what do you expect? Come on. It's like those misguided people who are going to Sixfields. It'd be head in the sands kind of thing. We are in a critical position, almost life support situation.
We'd all love to be enthusing over the goals etc, BUT, what's that expression doing the rounds - the elephant in the room.

I have sympathy and I think we all want to move on....but these are the most important months in our history.

But perhaps it still doesn't stand up to daily analysis.

I was waiting for the same ol comment about people going to sixfields. I was waiting for a more witty comment like Shitfields or something!

paxman, i wasn't inferring anything other than my frustration at the fact that all i,
and a myriad of others, want is a team to be proud of,
this would not seem possible whilst the current regime seem hell bent on reducing us to ashes,
having been a follower / fan since the 50's i feel qualified to comment

I don't disagree with that either. In fact you may have noticed this thread has got people agreeing more than normal of late?
And I also agree the JR is upcoming and a few other things before we will probably get some movement going forward on the big issues.
Still would like to see the repetitive stuff curbed back a bit for the sake of everyone's sanity!

Agree. The fans have chosen the boycott as their protest of choice. That will take a very long time to win through. Certainly not this season, so unless they are willing to change tactics, there is little to be gained from talking about it endlessly. I understand why they do, they want their team back in Coventry asap, but they have chosen the most long term strategy of all those open to them.

Given that, perhaps we should all focus more on the football.

Ferret, I don't believe the strategies have reached anywhere near the extremes they could reach by far.
At some point I believe there will be major peaceful pitch protests. When it REALLY dawns on the fans that their club isn't coming back, the more vocal of our fans, they'll decide, enough is enough. I'm hoping this tactic happens soon.
Of course, there could be fresh negotiations, there could be ramifications from the Appleton report (hmmm), Bob Ainsworth's investigations, Sisu may give up the ghost in Northampton due to crippling financial debts, ACL may spark something. So many possibilities.
Personally I'd go for the pitch thing right now. I'm far too old to even think about it, but I'd do it if enough went for it.
I don't think the fans are for turning. Or for 'winning through.'
& elsewhere people have said the fans are not united (not you I stress). That's just not true. There are about 800 people who pay to watch CCFC in Northampton. (the rest are freebies). Everyone else is boycotting it. And the numbers will drop in the winter.

How can you go on the pitch if you wont go in the ground??

Totally agree. I would go for the mischief making and direct action over a lame boycott any day of the week (I understand it, but it will take a long time to work). Some might say that you can do both - but it is hard to cause a scene when you are not there. A few people standing on a hill banging a drum nobody in the ground can hear does not constitute direct action in my book. Still, all been done to death and I have long since lost this argument.

The amount of free tickets is changing all the time, were there really about 700 people there with free tickets?

Covstu, there will come a point where us very unhappy fans will do that I think. With the object of major disruption in a peaceful manner to draw national attention to the disgraceful way OUR club is being run. If it happens I will be there.

"Timms Fairy Tales and the Pies Piper" has a few blindly following him out of town on a free ticket.
Some are actually following him to the clubs death and paying for it !!

How's going to the games 'following him to the club's death'?

This will be interesting.
